  1. Yiu can request a gene test for HLA-DQ genes associated with celiac. If you have the gene there is a 50/50 chance that you kids have it too since they take one copy from each parent and each parent has two copies of HLA-DQ genes. If your kids test positive on the gene it doesnt mea they have celiac or thay they would definitely get celiac it just means that...
  2. Hii Everyone, does anyone here have double copies of DQ2 ? And if so would you say your extra sensitive go gluten like some studies suggest ?
  3. Seriously how do these people become doctors !! Where do they get their certificates from exactly stupid university ??!
  4. Hii Everyone, my mother 49 years old was diagnosed with celiac disease 9 months ago with no symptoms but since her sister was diagnosed we decided to check her too. Her results were off the chart !! This was her blood work 9 months ago: Gliadin Antibody IgG >800 (normal < 12 U/ml) Gliadin Antibody IgA >800 (normal < 12 U/ml) tTG IgA >...

  8. I have seen this on other gluten free forums and thought it would be interesting and resourceful to do it here. If you've had a genetic test for celiac post your result and celiac diagnosis or symptoms. I'll start first: Mom - DQ2.5/DQ2.2 - 48 years old female - positive blood work marsh 3B at biopsy Myself- DQ2.2/DQ2.2 - 24 years old female - bloating...
  9. Thank you for your response. Well doctor didn't day after how long she should be re-tested, but from what I have read I guess 1 year would be reasonable given the damage that has been caused and her off the charts blood results ttg >800 ! The link to the study is : Open Original Shared Link
  10. Hi everyone, my mother 48 years old was diagnosed with celiac recently she had biposy which showed marsh 3B and gene test which showed she has DQ2.5 and DQ2.2 which from what i have read means she is at higher risk for refractory celiac Aand lymphoma according to one study !! She has gone gluten free and i am trying to encourage her as much as i can...
  11. Thanks everyone for responding. I don't mind going gluten free, I have already gone gluten-free even before the gene results were in. However, the article I have read saus they found 68% of EATL lymphoma patients with celiac to have double copies of DQ2 and as far as I know only about 30% of all celiacs have two copies of DQ2 so 68% of lymphoma to be from...
  12. I am a 24 year old female my mom and aunt were recently diagnosed with celiac I had the celiac panel with my dad and both of us had only anti-gliadin IGa was elevated to I went gluten free anyway and now had the gene test. My results came that I have two copies of DQ2 on DR7 ! I have read scary articles that having two copies of DQ2 predisposes to refractory...

  14. When my husband was diagnosed he thought he didn't have any symptoms, but then a bunch of stuff went away gluten free so he realized that he had symptoms after all.

  15. Hi, I saw that you were on my profile and my curiosity got the better of me and I came here to check you out. I have heard of people with high numbers like that so I think that they will go down. Good luck to you.

  16. Sylvia I hope your tests turn out normal, it is great that u responded so well. I was wondering what was the stage of your celiac at diagnosis ? Mild, subtotal or total atrophy ?
  17. Thank you for your responses. As soon as I found out its hereditary, I got tested. My results are confusing my ttg and EmA are both negative also anti-gliadin IGg negative only anti-gliadin IgA is positive and that is not specific to celiac. I guess maybe I have some allergy to gluten but not celiac yet. Sylvia I was wondering did your number come down for...
  18. Hi everyone, my mother and aunt were recently diagnosed with celiac. My mother has no symptoms except anemia. My mother's tTG was >800 when diagnosed and biopsy showed subtotal atrophy. I was wondering did anyone else have such a high number ? I am afraid that since her numbers are so high it will be difficult for her to bring it down or normalize it....
