  1. I haven't been diagnosed (just had my endoscopy today) but I think my pregnancy brought on my condition.
  2. Thanks D I was first in to have the procedure. There was no damage visible to the naked eye, so I will have to wait 4 weeks for the biopsy results. Bummer I couldn't have an earlier appt but the doctor just got back from holidays. When I finished the procedure, they made me a coffee and then gave me a cheese sandwich and some biscuits. All gluten! I was...
  3. Hi I have my endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow. I strongly suspect I have celiac disease but I have had 2 blood tests. I hadn't been consuming gluten 12 weeks prior to either test. They didn't do the full celiac blood panel. I took the list into the doctor last time (my usual doctor was away) and he just looked at me and had no idea. I went off gluten...
  4. Forgot to mention the hair loss and like another poster my hair has been going grey quite rapidly.
  5. I didn't include all the symptoms I have had which made me suspect celiac. Here are some of them: • hearing loss • tinnitus • lump in breast that was very painful • upper back pain • tingling around spine • tingling in my toes • arthritis in my wrist • pain in my hands • stomach pain and gurgling • pain around my liver after eating certain food...
  6. Thanks Nicole I too think it is a good idea to redo the blood tests. I will get my doctor to give me the full panel you have listed above. My son isn't ill but he has shown some signs. He was in the 95th percentile for weight when he was a baby which has dropped right down to about the 75th %. He suffers from eczema, has complained on a few occasions of...
  7. Thanks Diana I try to remember to take supplemements everyday. They do make a difference.I have been taking vitamins for years which is probably one of my saving graces. My sister and brother in law are doctors and they used to look down at me taking vitamins saying I will have expensive urine. So glad I didn't listen to them. They now have come around and...
  8. Hi Mimi I am new to the forum too. I recommend staying on gluten until you get tested. I think this may have stuffed off my blood test results. I haven't been officially diagnosed but I am pretty sure it is related to gluten. I went to see a gastroenterologist who was a locum for the practice's real doctor. He thought I had IBS but after doing my own reading...
  9. Hi I am new to this forum. I have only recently come to the conclusion that I may have celiac disease. I have been having stomach pains that come and go which were so bad a year ago I had to go up to the hospital emergency. They found white blood cells in my urine and put me on antibiotics. The pain subsided but then flaired up again and this time I was...
  10. I am in the same boat. I had the blood test done just over a month ago which came back negative. I hadn't had any gluten for 6 days before the test so i don't know whether that had anything to do with it. I am not even sure which test she ordered. I will have to ask her for a copy next time I see her. I got a referal to a specialist who is going to do an...
