  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Does it cost less to grind your own? I've just been using 'Bob's Red Mill' flours and mixes, but they are quite spendy.
  3. I'm with you two Carrie and hlm34. I was breast-fed and the only person in my family with celiac, although I wonder about my mother. And if it is genetic, how is breast-feeding from someone with those same genes going to prevent it? I think by develop they could be referring to the fact that it is often not found until later in life, or the symptoms get...
  4. Hi Christine, I'm pregnant right now too, and she is usually very active also. I have noticed though that her activity is very related to when and what I eat. I think because of the nutrients being transfered. It could be that when you have a gluten accident, that those nutrients are not being transfered because your body is having a hard time, or...
  5. Thank you WGibs, I didn't realize that vegetables were such a good source. I guess I have more in my diet than I thought. It's 50 miles to the nearest natural foods store, so I don't go to often to get the pasta's and cereals, but have been using beans and rice to make bread. Thank you, I feel re-assured now, and will keep eating my vegetables...
  6. Hi Everyone, Does anyone know what gluten-free foods are high in Complex Carbohydrates? Everything I'm eating seems to be either protien or simple carb. I just heard that Complex Carbs are the only fuel that the brain can use efficiently, and boy does my brain need fuel! Patricia
  7. Shirley, Does Immodium help with accidental contamination? I've never heard of that before!
  8. Hi Erin, It sounds like you are getting lots of wonderful advice here. I've been gluten free for almost 4 years, and I felt the same at first. I think people relate this to a regular allergy that can get better after a while of abstaining from that food. I spent the time and effort explaining to those that are close to me, and everyone else does not...
  9. Hi Jules, Sorry to hear about your nausea. I'm in my 13th week and found that nothing I ate would help mine either. Happily, it's starting to get better just because of the time that has passed. There is light at the end of the tunnel!!! Patricia
  10. Hi, I'm excited for you. I've enjoyed reading all your responses since I'm pregnant too (due April 17) and have been having the same problem. I tried some fiber chewables, but they gave me gas so bad I couldn't stand it!! I'll be trying all the things you are. Glad they are working for you!
