So thank you for the Cliff notes....cuz at this point, before i study up on all that, I need the condensed version...
  9. Thanks Squirming. I wanted to ask, since I'm NEW I hope y'all don't think these are stupid. I ordered several books that just haven't arrived yet so... For example...on my recent "baked lays" kick....cuz i love potato chips so tryin to take it down a notch....are those bad too? Cuz it says SOY in there. And I guess what I'm confused about is...
  10. YES....I have to tell you I LOVE fried scallops, hee. So theres my excuse! I love fried shrimp too....last chance for that! So its interesting what you and others have said about iodine....as in iodized salt right? Because I find that to be correct! I have noticed, if I eat a bunch of stuff WITH SALT, even if its "gluten free"....I still get aggravated...
  11. Hi all, and thank you SO very much for helping me. Its funny because, originally when i called my insurance about what they may or may not pay, the lady i had the phone said one of her friends went gluten free "just for health", nothing particular. But she did tell me that the person said the first 3 weeks was HELL but after that it got better. So thanks...

  15. thank you so much for that link...i will tool around it now... ya know? I just read the lil thing on the net for my hmo dermo...who has never done it...that they want to send me back to tomorrow.. it says...he only does SHAVING biopsy....isn't this supposed to be a PUNCH biopsy for the best result. 17. its not a POLITICALLY CORRECT disease...thats it....i think i have it! diabetes is the in thing, obesity is in, and some cancers are in DERmatitis Herpetiformis? not in....not enough money in it? is THAT it?
  18. sigh. thats the rub aint it? right NOW my arm is burning so bad...and a part of my back...i dont think i can TAKE another week, let alone month, when i know what the answer is. Its just not fair. And i am still not getting why they treat it like this? Jeez, if i was obese or something...i could prob get someone to do the whole gastric thing in less time...
  19. Actually, I DID do that last week...got the run around there too....when i tried to find out about DH doc specifically, didnt get ANYWHERE...got celiac GI stuff and everything else, and oh by the way THAT first opening was next March. yeah, not gonna eat gluten for 2 more months for a consultation about a consultation about a consultation...OY VEY. but...
  20. Thanks for responding. yeah, I figured it wouldn't be recognized, I realize that. I was just wondering if anyone has DONE it regardless and what they thought of results? or their experience if the results matched or not. Obviously I was hoping for better from the medical community, but sadly, looks like the dermo industry as a whole isn't too up on this...
  21. ooops...one last thing i wanted to ask...before my week is out....have any of you done Entero labs? and what do you think....i know its not the same....but it would be SOMETHING i could have on paper....shoud a fecal test show ANYTHING related..... i think my primary should have OFFERED that to me as well.....but he doesnt seem too keen on offering anything...

    ARCHIVED Shins?

I have often wondered.....if my dad was celiac without knowing? He had this unexplained rash on his shins...both sides...ever since I could remember as a child...i would ask my mom about it (it would come and go in intensity, not always the same) and the picture i can give you is this....it looked JUST like the ones i have seen here and elsewhere of people...

I forgot to add....by these docs i was similar to most of you....they thought eczema, folliculitis and the like... the hmo doc i was speaking of had me on doxycycline for 4 MONTHS...till i just stopped them..they did nothing....it wasnt till i read books and you guys and stuff that i realize...i should have been on dapsone i guess for comfort this whole...
  25. Hi there. Sorry if I make this long, but will try to encapsulate. The background to all this....I am 51, caucasian. In my 20's i had 2 courses of accutane for cystic acne. Took care of it. Problem free for more than 20 years. Around April of this year...started getting "things" on my back, back of neck....top half mainly.....hurt, itch, all that. ...
