  1. I am posting an update for anyone who stumbles into this thread with a similar question: I spoke with my doctor today and the positive test I have is deaminated Gliadin-Antibodies, so that makes the test a lot more specific. They think I have celiac disease, but the IgG is negative, because I might just beginning to react to gluten. I am supposed...
  2. Thank you so much for your reply! The text you linked here is really informative! You're right, I think I will definitely go gluten-free (at least for a while), but I would like to know for sure, because 1. I already am fructose intolerant and it has been a constant battle with some relatives, who think I just need to be special and constantly feel...
  3. Forgot to add: the reason for testing in 2014/2015 was that I felt awesome on 3-month-gluten-free diet. I did go back on gluten prior to blood tests and biopsy, but I am not sure for how long. I think it was 10-12 weeks. My blood results in 2015 were as follows: ttg IgA Celikey 0,3 U/ml (normal <7) ttg IgG <0,6 U/ml (normal <...
  4. Hello everyone! I have been tested for celiac in 2014/2015 and was all negative in biopsy and blood test. I am positive for DQ8 and DQ7, so my doctor told me to come back for retesting if I feel like something is up. I have had some really stressful weeks and things escalated, so I wanted to go back on a gluten-free diet ASAP. I went to a different...
  5. The reason why sunflower oil might not be too good for celiacs is probably that it is very high in omega-6 fatty acids (59%). Omega-6 fatty acids are pro-inflammatory (because they are converted into eicosanoids, which then bind to receptors on cells and trigger inflammatory pathways). See: Open Original Shared Link Since people with auto-immune diseases...
  6. Yes! Coconut oil. Every lotion and potion you can buy in a store will have some form of preservative, alcohol, silicone, etc., that dehydrates your skin. If you look at the ingredient list you'll find alcohol somewhere at the top. This will dehydrate and irritate your skin faster than any of the good ingredients can do something good for your skin. Dehydrated...
  7. I am in exactly the same situation. I have had my endoscopy and blood testing two weeks ago after a 4-months-gluten challenge (I was eating gluten-free for three months before that). The absence of all my symptoms on a gluten-free diet was impressive, but the return of symptoms I had never thought about in relation to food (daily headaches, sore gums) was...
  8. Hi LeahRuth, I went gluten-free on my own last summer. Not because I suspected I might have a real gluten-intolerance or celiac, but because I had noticed a few years ago that gluten-free food was much lighter on my stomach than normal bread. Back then I was a college student and couldn't afford to go completely gluten-free and finally gave it up again...
  9. The IgA value of 184 is the test for total IgA. This test is important because many people with celiac have an IgA deficiency. You're value is within the given range, which means that you are not IgA deficient. The other values for Tissue Transglutaminase are elevated, which would indicate celiac. Did they test for EMA and deamidated gliadin peptide...
  10. Quest bars, homemade Quest-style bars, Monbento box with different snacks like nuts, gluten-free bread and cheese.
  11. Hi! I am new here and still in the process of getting all the tests done. My CBC showed a low white blood cell count. Does anyone know if this affects the antibody tests? If the body is not making enough white blood cells as it is, will a specific antibody test give reliable results? Thanks for taking the time to read
