  1. Thank you, it's no problem! I just wanted to make sure my account wasn't hacked or something.
  2. I just got a notification that you responded to my post.
  3. This is really weird, I didn't post that and it was posted the times. Did someone hack my account?!
  4. Is anyone else having this issue? I can't reproduce it....
  5. I'm not sure, I'm new to this forum too. Search for ROCK'n Maryland on Facebook, that's the one I'm a member of. But it's a closed group so I don't know if you'll be able to find it.
  6. I found it through a Facebook group. I could help if you want to send me your name I could add you.
  7. Hi there, I'm not in Ellicott City but I do live in Maryland. My daughters were both diagnosed last April. My oldest is four and a half and was asymptomatic, my youngest is almost 3 and was very, very sick prior to diagnosis. I'm in a Maryland ROCK (raising our celiac kids) support group that's pretty awesome. We meet up about every three months. I'd love...
  8. My daughter had the calprotectin test done prior to diagnosis. Fron what the Dr told me it only reveals the presence of inflammatio in the stool, but not the cause of inflammation. So, it could be caused by any number of GI issues. I would highly suspect celiac for your son but knowing for sure would be usefully for school etc. The dr had no right to tell...
  9. Yes, if it's a food that is already glute free they mark their packaging "naturally glute free". A couple examples I have is a can of black olives marked that way, or a jar of peanut butter.
  10. Wow! Great job! You're probably just experiencing "keto flu" is kind of like a detox. It shouldn't last too much longer. I would say, if you want to reap all the benefits is ketosis, you should aim for 20 net carbs per day. That will help get you deeper into ketosis and your appetite will really start to disappear. You can expect a pretty consistent 1-2 lb...
  11. Good question! I'll be following this topic bc we do a lot of shopping at aldi.
  12. I have all my results. I was trying to figure out a way to share them on here but I don't have a scanner at home. I took pictures of them but I don't know if I can add it to this post. I'm so technical, as you can see! Anyway, I'm planning to call the lab Monday morning. The Dr made it sound like I had perfectly healthy intestines. But the pathology report...
  13. I go in today to the Dr and I'm going to get the copies of all of my test results, so we shall see. Nvsmom, I'm not sure which blood tests were run but he said all four markers. I wasn't expecting the blood work to be accurate anyway because I'd already been off of gluten for a week and a half when it was drawn, I was hoping the endoscopy/biopsies would give...
  14. All of my blood work came back normal too. The Dr ordered the endoscopy and blood testing just based on my daughters diagnosis and my symptoms but everything came back normal. Though I am iga deficient.
  15. Thank you so much for all the advice nvsmom. I feel strongly that I have celiac disease but the Dr seemed very sure that I don't. I'm worried he's going to think I'm a hypochondriac for pushing the issue. I'm going to bring my husband along on Friday for moral support! I read somewhere that you can ask for your biopsy slides and send them in to a celiac...
  16. Thank you nvsmom! I am going in to discuss what the Dr saw, etc on Friday. I'm going to ask him for a copy of every test result. I am IGA deficient. Plus, I expected the blood work to come back negative bc I had been gluten free for a week and a half when the Dr took the blood. I told him but he did it anyway. But I thought that the biopsies would be accurate...
  17. Hi all! I heard back from my Dr yesterday about my biopsy results. He said they came back completely normal and the only thing that he saw that was abnormal was excess bile. I'm scheduled to go in Friday to discuss it more with him. I feel kind of in shock. I was so sure that I have celiac disease. I've had symptoms my whole life, going back to about 6 months...
  18. So, they are in no way on a low carb diet. Just leaning toward a whole foods type of diet. A far cry from our old way of eating (delivery pizza Monday was a thing in this house)! I do miss the convenience sometimes but with both my girls diagnosed celiac and my probable celiac, I think fast food is a thing of the past for us! I'm sure my girls will be much...
  19. No worries! I guess my main thought is that I believe grains aren't good for anyone, least of all celiacs who have inflammation and damage they are trying to heal. But my daughters still eat gluten-free grains and lots of different fruits and vegetables (if I can get them to try them!) I'm just trying to decrease the grains and sugar while adding more healthy...
  20. Cyclinglady, I wouldn't ever put my little girls on the type of ketogenic diet my husband and I are on, I agree with you on that. I think my comment was maybe misleading. But I am trying to cut back on processed foods, grains, sugar and excessive fruit ( they don't drink juice except on rare special occasions) in their diet. Which isn't always easy bc they...
  21. I'm slowly shifting my daughters to a more ketogenic diet. They are 2 and 3 1/2 years old and were both diagnosed in April. They are doing great gluten-free, but my youngest has had diarrhea for the last three weeks. I'm beginning to think she was glutened bc her diarrhea has been getting better the last two days. But, over the last few weeks I've been over...
  22. I think it usually takes about three days to get into ketosis. I'm going to check my level Monday since I'm finally ofg gluten after my endoscopy. The only thing that might keep you out of deep ketosis is the kiwi you mentioned. Fruit should be avoided to start and then only low sugar fruits like berries are recommended in moderation. Great job though!
  23. If you can tolerate dairy and coffee, homemade bulletproof coffee is delicious and it's what really pushed me into deep ketosis! I'm sipping I. one right now. This will keep me full until 1 or 2 in the afternoon! Here's my recipe: 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 tbsp kerrygold butter 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream 1 cup coffee Liquid stevia to taste Blend...
  24. Foam, you're diet sounds like a perfectly healthy ketogenic diet! It's great to hear the improvement in you're health bc of it. I do think the symptoms will come back if you try to add carbs back in. Nvsmom, my celiac panel included all four markers but I haven't gotten the results yet. My endoscopy is scheduled for later today, so I will hopefully have...
  25. A great website is ruled.me. He has a lot of info and recipes. Mostly I've relied on books. I read "keto clarity" to start, "Wheat belly: total health", and "the big fat surprise". Right now I'm reading "grain brain". They are all excellent! My husband is down 50lbs and I've lost 37lbs, not to mention how much better we feel! If you can stick to keto perfectly...
