  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Thanks for the details. I was just at Applebee's yesterday, and I explained the whole thing. They came back and assured me there was no marinade on it. I am going to ask AGAIN when we go there next. I have not gotten sick when I eat there, but I want to be sure!!! Bee Free
  3. When dining at TGI FRIDAY'S the other night, I asked whether a particular dish was gluten free. The manager then came to our table to explain that she had just found out that NONE of their chicken is gluten free. It comes frozen to the restaurants with a marinade already on it. The marinade has gluten in it. The manager said they do not tell anyone...
  4. I find that Glutano's pretzels are really good. ( and I have always been a pretzel lover, so going gluten free was not easy!!!). If you have a whole foods market near you, they sell them. Also, some good crackers are Blue Diamonds Nut Thins. They have several varieties, including almond and pecan. Very tasty.. Also at Whole Foods!
  5. I know how you feel. One thing to think of regarding insurance is what will you need to have done test wise. Since there are no medical cures, maybe you can get by without insurance. I have so many other health issues that quitting my job would be impossible ( salary!!). I am covered under my husband's health insurance. As far as having unpredictable...
  6. Laura - Great article. Since it was written in 2002, I wonder if they have made any progress. I'd volunteer to be a guinea pig!! Maybe someone knows of ongoing research... Bee Free
  7. I sent an email to ConAgra who makes Swiss Miss. They sent me a list of all of their gluten free products. Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate is on the list. It sure tastes great to drink it again!! Bee Free
  8. Hi Christine- I have both Lupus and celiac disease. I had the butterfly rash for years before I was diagnosed and didn't know what it was. The fact that you are pregnant is significant. Pregnancy can trigger Lupus. I would definitely ask your doctor about it. People with Lupus have a much higher chance of having celiac disease too. Good luck!
  9. If you check Kraft's website, they have a whole explanation of how they mark their foods. I thought it was very helpful information! Hope this helps! Bee Free
  10. Thanks for your input. I will have to do some shopping - because I have been sharing the colader and plastic utensils. I had a short time where I was feeling better, and then it stopped - maybe the utensils are part of the problem! Anything to "be free!!"
  11. I have read that it is important to avoid cross contamination by keeping food separate when cooking, etc. I also read that when you have celiac disease to keep separatae utensils for cooking and eating. My question is whether that is necessary if everything you use to cook and eat with is washed in a dishwasher? I hope someone has some advice on this...
