Celiac activist Alice Bast gave a talk recently here in the DC area where she said that despite having severe celiac disease, she does not bother with checking the status of gluten-free in shampoos, etc. Personally, I check my shampoo/conditioner products, as well as lotions.   3. Are these preservatives listed on wine labels? Up until now I had assumed all wines were gluten-free until I further researched and discovered otherwise.

  5. I have a can of Duncan Hines Homestyle frosting right in front of me, and it says "BARLEY MALT" right on the label. I've never noticed this before, but have always felt ill after their frosting. I'd be very, very careful with their products.
