  1. I recently went gluten-free and oat-free (45 days ago), I tested negative last year but thought I would try gluten free for my anxiety which has been getting quite bad. I have been keeping a diary and I haven't noticed much of a difference being off the gluten. Well I tried to eat gluten free oats today and my anxiety is crazy. I am so disappointed as mentally...
  2. We did the follow up blood work on Friday and the test result for the TTG IGA was 2 (positive is over 20). She had been eating gluten for 6 months at this time. I'm very happy she doesn't have celiac but am disappointed we don't have any answers for her anxiety, irritability, low iron and constipation. The search continues...will start looking into food sensitivities...
  3. Make sure you do the whole panel. The ttg IGA isn't as sensitive for kids under 2. I don't have the name of all the tests handy but there should be at least 5.
  4. Hi - we did gluten free for 1 month and then back on gluten for 2 weeks and tested. It came back as barely positive. We were referred to a GI and he said we should have waited at least 12 weeks. You could always test at 4 weeks and if it's negative test again in 12? I considered doing that.
  5. Let me know how it goes! Curious to know the results of your celiac blood work. Did you have high test results?
  6. I wanted to update my post for those who might be googling and looking for insight. We finally met with Dr. Mack at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa. He reviewed my 8 year old daughters file and thought that her positive TTG IGA was inconclusive, especially since her digestive symptoms aren't severe. (It was 27 with 0 to 19 is negative...
  7. Hello! My 8 year old daughter is awaiting her appt with the GI for slightly high TTG IGA (not til September). Tonight she starting getting really itchy and little white bumps that look like mosquito bites started forming. It's happening on her inner upper leg, just above her bum and near her shoulders. I have no experience with this type of thing. We went...
  8. Found this old thread when researching for my daughter who might be having an endoscopy in September. I'm curious to know what the results were?
  9. Wow - those are some really high numbers. Something definitely has to be going on. It will be interesting to see if the numbers are still high. My 7 year old has one positive celiac test - the TTG IGA and it's just barely positive (20-24 is weak positive and over 25 is positive - she is 27). Her GI appt isn't til September but I hope the doctor will...
  10. Thanks emma6, It's been over a week and CHEO (Children's Hospital) is still reviewing our file. No appointment date yet. It's so hard to wait.
  11. I have my daughter's test results and we had one positive result (I am guessing this is because she was gluten free for 5 weeks and then back on gluten 2.5 weeks before the test). Is it common to only have one test come back positive? Should the Deamidated Gliadin IgA be positive if it's celiac? My doctor said the results are inconclusive but is referring...
  12. I figured I would get the testing now (it would probably be negative) and then just test again in 3-6 months if we were still having issues. I was mostly interested in her iron levels as she had started sucking on rocks and eating mud! I really wasn't expecting a positive result. Anyway, I thought I would just have to take GI specialist that my doctor...
  13. I have an update, we decided to go with the doctor and test after 2 weeks being back on a heavy gluten diet. I asked for the results when I went to see the nurse for another issue. Doctor has said they are "inconclusive" and is sending us to a specialist. I wasn't allowed to take the results with me until she finishes reviewing but I did get to look...
  14. my doctor just ordered the TTG-IGA, I called the clinic and it looks like the ones I am missing are Total IGA and IGG. The test names are super confusing, maybe I can just get her to change it to "celiac panel" and that would cover everything? I asked her about genetic testing and she had no idea how to order that test. We have to pay for the test here in...
  15. Charli61 you tested positive for celiac? How high were your antibodies?
  16. Hello, I'm new to the board and looking for advice. I suspect celiac or gluten intolerance in my 7 year old daughter due to quite a few issues (iron deficiency, weak nails, fatigue, mouth sores, dark circles under eyes, constipation, bloating, irritable, aggression, social anxiety, possible inattentive ADHD and small for her age). I took her off...
