ARCHIVED What are my next steps?
Gluten-free-01 replied to David55's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just a few more ideas: I agree that it's better to have your own copies of the results, if possible. You could see 1) which tests exactly were run and 2) if the results were really 'normal' or maybe borderline low/high for some of them. 3) We don't know when exactly you were tested.. if it was a year ago or so, some of the levels might have changed. 4) Doctors...- 14 replies

I guess an allergist will probably run the 'wheat allergy' test (IgE) and/or skin prick tests for food allergies. In general, celiac disease blood tests (IgA, IgG) are usually run by gastroenterologists or GPs. Btw I think my English is terrible so maybe I shouldn't give any more advice :-)- 14 replies

David: The most important thing is not to panic. You said something about college so I think you're young - that makes things easier because the earlier you find out you have this intolerance/allergy/disease the better. Don't worry about other people - most people live on gluten foods, love these foods and are not able to comprehend that it is literally...- 14 replies

ARCHIVED Med for SIBO denied by insurance co.

What do you drink in the morning? Could e.g. coffee be the reason you don't feel well after breakfast? Do you take any vitamin/mineral supplements (especially in the morning)? Could this be a side effect? E.g. not everyone tolerates magnesium citrate. -

Hi David, there are 3 different conditions basically: Celiac disease, non celiac gluten sensitivity and wheat allergy. Celiac disease - blood tests: Gliadin IgG Gliadin IgA Endomysium IgG Endomysium IgA ttg IgG ttG IgA total IgA - this is not a celiac disease test as such but your total IgA level - some people...- 14 replies

Victoria: I think sd can also be caused by candida so I guess a 'candida diet' could help. No sugar etc.

No, not really.. It wasn't very severe and eventually went away without any special treatment. The Dr. said it might have been caused by stress.

Please keep in mind that ‘regular’ doctors, unlike doctors of functional medicine, rarely try to find the root causes of their patients’ problems. I had seborrheic dermatitis a few years ago and, as expected, I got a prescription shampoo and a liquid solution and that was it. I still respect doctors in general, though, because in many health related situa...

ARCHIVED My symptoms and blood test results – NCGS?
Gluten-free-01 replied to Gluten-free-01's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks Marry. Your story is very similar indeed. I totally agree that the migraines are the worst symptom - the pain was terrible and there were times when I was almost convinced that I had a brain tumor. I'm glad you replied to my post because at least I can see that it's not all just in my head (I feel paranoid sometimes) and see that all these issues... -

Exactly. I feel a bit confused.. don't think that I'd be able to do a gluten challenge though.. so I'll just trust my body and intuition more than the results. I think I'm having some withdrawal issues now and hope I'll feel better in a few weeks. -

New info: I was really curious about this so I sent an email to the lab on Friday asking how fast would the antibodies go down. Today, I got a reply from the Head of the Laboratory (Clinical Immunology) and she said that the antibodies go down really fast - within a few days. So, now I know that my test result could have easily been a false negative... -

Ok guys, I'm not an expert. Maybe it was really just cc as Matt said. Or my body is just too sensitive now and this thing is too artificial/chemical. I feel that real unprocessed food is better for me now. It won't be a problem to find another brand. The Moser Roth doesn't sound familiar to me but I'll see if I can find it in local supermarkets. I... -

Calories would be ok - I need to gain some weight :-) But I've found this: How is GFS made? GFS is made from starch by first making a glucose syrup. The linked glucose molecules in starch are hydrolysed into free glucose molecules. Then, with the use of enzymes, some of the glucose is changed into fructose in a process called isomerisation. The... -

Thanks Matt :-) I'm from the Czech Republic (Central Europe). Yes, it might have been cross contamination, I think you're right. But I'll avoid the syrup too because I've found out that sometimes it is made of wheat. I like your 'Robinson Crusoe' post. I read it a few days ago. It helped me understand some things about myself. So thanks for... -

Feeneyja, Victoria1234: Thank you for your replies. I've decided that I won't go back to eating gluten. It makes me feel too bad. I 'poisoned' myself with dark chocolate with 70 percent cocoa content yesterday because later I found out it contained Glucose-fructose syrup. I'll have to be more careful about reading the ingredients lists. I guess... -

Hi, I’m new to this forum. I’m not a native English speaker so sorry if my English is not perfect :-) For the past 2,5 years (at least) I’ve had typical symptoms of celiac disease.* When I realized this (too late I guess) I went gluten free immediately. So I’ve been gluten-free for approx. 2 weeks and some of the things have already improved. M...
