Hi! Anyone have a recipe for flat bread or wraps that don't fall apart when fold them or roll them? I'm dying to find one (I would order them from the gluten free mall, but they don't deliver internationally). Thanks! Smack

My body temperature is always below 98, usually runs between 96.5 and 97.5 at any time of day and my thyroid is fine...I know that if I have a temp. of 98 or higher, that I'm actually running a bit of a fever. Make sure you consult a specialist along with performing your own diagnostics.

ARCHIVED Flavored Yogurtsmack replied to soul04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Wow, thatnks for the heads up about penny.ca, I didn't know they weren't updating products that were no longer gluten-free! I think I'll also start doing the same, buying natural yogurt and flavouring it with jam. My mom used to do that, it's must be better than artifical flavours and sweetners anyway! Have a great weekend!

I also have alopecia areata, which first appeared when I became hyperthyroid, but has stayed with me all my life unlike my thyroid condition. But since celaics is an...

ARCHIVED Digestive Enzymes?smack replied to gf4life's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Hi gf4Life, Yes, I think it is a saliva test that determines your status. Is there a test for the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet? I'm AB-, but I don't know if I'm a scetetor or not, it would interesting to see what they list I should eat! I think I will also look into enzymes...are they expensive? I used to take Acidophilus and thought it help me in many...

ARCHIVED Safe Alcoholsmack replied to soul04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Smirnoff Ice in Canada is Gluten Free, so is pur source and pur source light (it's like a premixed 7 up and vodka with a really good after taste)...I wonder why they would add malt to smirnoff ice in the US? hmp.

ARCHIVED Beer Drinkingsmack replied to faithladene's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Geez Louise, it's not like I'm taking a cyanide tablet! I'm not advocating cheating on a daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly basis, I've been gluten free for over 2 years, one day last month I said, I know it's bad, I know I shouldn't but I'm going to eat that slice of pizza. I'm sure it'll happen to most people in their life time. I remeber how sick...

ARCHIVED Digestive Enzymes?smack replied to gf4life's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Scientifically, nonsecretors are a smaller portion of the population who's blood type antigens (A, B, AB O) are not secreted in their boldily fluids (other than blood), they are only roughly 20 - 30% of the population depending on the blood type. So, a person who is nonsecreter and AB- would not have this identifiable in their saliva, sweat or seminal...

ARCHIVED Beer Drinkingsmack replied to faithladene's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease beauvillier! I have also tried that beer while in Quebec vacationing! I also enjoyed it, however it is not quite like normal beer, perhaps it is the citrus... I'm not sure how you can convince your husband to stop drinking beer, I stopped because I'm pretty sensitive and felt terrible after beer or contaminated foods, so the choice was eay for...

Hiya! I'm 26 too, I've been gluten-free for almost 2 yrs now, I was at a normal weight when I was 'sick' as I had atypical symptoms. When I went gluten-free, I started to eat rice based products as everyone does, but one slice of rice bread has 2 to 3 times the calories of a regular slice of bread and does not leave you feeling as full for as long. The...

Oh my goodness, if people lose interest in you because you have a food intolerance, good riddance! I cannot believe people could be so ignorantly shallow. I've never had a problem with dating or letting people know that I have celiac disease, mind you I was diagnosed at the beginning of relationship that I've still in (it's been 2 years) and his aunt also...

ARCHIVED Fibersmack replied to YankeeDB's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Dried fruits are great but be careful with dried apricots, try and get ones that are truly sundried and not treaded with sulfur dioxide (or unsulfered) (sulfering helps to maintain the apricot colour and mild plumpness). Sulfer dioxide treated apricots can cause painful bloating, bad cramps and gas that could knock you out cold - or at least make you...

I found this place through a web search, and they have the best selection of gluten-free products I have seen outside of the Specialty Food shop at Sick Kids (not always convenient to get to). They also have a lot of frozen prepared foods like lasagna etc, as well as Kinnikinnick donuts - so damn good(!) and a pretty good variety of breakfast cereals...

I had this problem, I used sleep about 16 hours a day, go to work and then go to bed. It was because my iron was low. I got my iron stores back up through suppliments, but I still tire quite easily sometimes. Perhaps you should get your iron levels checked if you haven't in a while. I've heard others say that fatigue is one thing that many celiacs...
