  1. Thanks so much for your response! It's very hard to find others who've had the surgery for GERD -much harder than other celiacs! My wrap seems to be doing fine, but I would like to talk with people that have the wrap who are pregnant/have been pregnant. We're wanting to start a family soon, but I'm still not convinced that I won't have difficulties with...
  2. Jessica, I'm 26 and married and live in Alexandria, VA, probably not far from you. I was diagnosed a year ago, and have had difficulty navigating and finding support until I happened on this website yesterday. I've been looking for support groups in our area, but haven't found any yet. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Weggmans (out by Dulles airport) have...
  3. I know cheetos are supposed to be okay, but they make me sick. So do Fritos and Utz potato chips, which even say they are gluten free. I'm trying also to determine what these items might have that are making me sick. Possibly another allergy?

  5. Has anyone experienced side effects/intolerance/allergy symptoms to grapes? I'm finding if I eat red grapes, drink red wine or fruit punches containing grapes, that I get the same symptoms as I do when I eat gluten. Funny enough, green grapes and white wine don't seem to bother. Any thoughts, or similar experiences?
  6. I am 26, and have suffered from celiac my whole life, not realizing it until a year ago when my mother was diagnosed, and I was then tested. We strongly suspect my grandmother also has celiac, and when she tried the gluten free diet, all of her IBS and intestinal distress symptoms vanished. However, she is the queen of fad diets, and after her doctor (incompetent...
  7. I found out almost a year ago that I have Celiac. Like many with the disease, I spent most of my life being told by doctors that it was "in my head" and that there was nothing wrong with me. At 19, I had stomach surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease, and have since learned that the celiac is probably what led to my reflux being severe enough to necessitate...
