  1. Count me as a success story. Going gluten-free was like trading in a Honda Civic with 90,000 miles on it for a brand-new Accord. I felt so much better in so many ways that I was surprised when I realized it hadn't cured the ligament damage in my ankle or my fear of heights.

Is there some nutrient that you got mostly through foods containing gluten or through something you ate with a food containing gluten that you didn't get on a gluten-free diet?     I've had lifelong insomnia, but since it was from the first day my parents brought me home from the hospital, I don't see how it could be related to celiac disease since I'd not had any gluten then. (Before you feel too sorry for my parents, know that once I did get to sleep I slept through the night.)
