  1. Funny, I actually just got the call from my Dr...So it seems I have a normal blood test for celiac...since I have reactions to gluten items he suggested gluten-free until I go see him the end of the month...so what now...I get no answers, but hopefully can follow the diet without getting sick again...thanks for listening
  2. Thanks for the support! WOW Nikki, I mean I know the health system is a busy place but this is way too long, especially with celiac since it can lead to malnutrition, among other things!! I would have thought the UK have a better health system than Canada....don't look that way now. Since ours is funded by government it doesn't recieve enough money...
  3. The health system where I live in Canada is irritating me...I had my blood test over a month ago and have not recieved the results. I tried phone and noone returns my phone calls (however, the dr. said if it were negative I would not recieve a phone call). I would be very surprised if it were negative, however I haven't recieved a phone call!! I have been...
  4. Open Original Shared Link Here it says floating stools are caused by gas... I find it hilarious talking about stools, you know you are comfortable with your significant other when you can discuss your bowel movements! BTW, I get both floating and sinking, button-like stools (not very often, lately, do I get a fully formed stool) A question: ...
  5. I have not been diagnosed yet (waiting on blood test results still!), but have all the symptoms of celiac. I have been trying gluten free and felt wonderful, then had a doughnut lastnight and back to the stomach pain, constipation, headache, and all my joints were in pain! Anyhow, I have had trouble swallowing food for about 13 years (I can't remember...
  6. Thanks, I thought I read the ingredients, but guess not, thanks for the replies!! ...I will be avoiding rice cakes from now on, better yet I should avoid many processed foods! By the way, what is cc?
  7. Does anyone react to Quaker Rice Cakes?? I had a great gluten-free lunch, at least I thought, until I ate two Quaker caramel-chocolate chip rice cakes, now I feel bloated, gassy, tired, and very foggy...just wondering if anyone else reacts to these...I just looked at their website and they say they cannot guarantee their products are gluten-free during...
  8. I think I found my answer on the "Post-diagnosis" forum...
  9. I am still waiting for the results of my blood test and I cannot get it off my mind...I tried eating gluten days before but I didn't eat as much as normally...I was sick and pretty lethargic because of it while getting my test done! Since then I have been trying to eat gluten-free, and trying to test my reaction to the diet. I was going to continue eating...
  10. Sorry found my answer on nestle's website just as I posted this topic... had a reaction to the bar, and since I was wondering if I was truly lactose intolerant (since I wasn't actually tested), guess this answers my question...
  11. Would anyone know if regular chocolate (milk chocolate) Aero bars are gluten free? Thanks a bunch!
  12. Oooh, now I understand, thanks Thanks everyone for the replies, I will probably just avoid the trail mix, or even make my own basic one. but it obviously don't agree with me!
  13. Why do all my posts end up at the end of each forum??
  14. I bought a trail mix from walmart (Mountain Trail Mix) and it seems to bother my stomach...looking at the ingredients it appears safe, but then I am new to the gluten-free diet and I may not be picking up on gluten ingredients. Here are the ingredients: Raisins, peanuts, M&M's (milk chocolate - sugar, cocoa mass, milk ingredients, cocoa butter, lactose...
  15. I tried searching the forums to see if this has been asked but have only gotten error messages. I recently bought some soy flour but there is no ingredients listed, just wondering if it is normally safe/gluten-free? Thanks!
  16. I can remember reading about this recently (I am also waiting for a diagnosis), but since the villi in your small intestine become flattened, they don't absorb nutrients such as fats, proteins, and such, thus they go directly to your large intestine where they are attempted to be broken down, and a by-product of this is gas, which therefore causes the bloating...
  17. I have a couple more questions regarding this gluten-free diet...I did cheat this weekend after going gluten-free for one day, but I wasn't sure what to do since I have to wait so long for a dr. appointment. So yesterday and today I go gluten-free again, but this time I am not feeling the same positive changes as I did a few days ago when I tried it... ...
  18. I will have pizza for you and me both!!! I cannot imagine never having another piece of pizza again...argh!! Stir-fry, wow! I know breakfast don't need to be breakfast foods, I used to like pizza for breakfast at times, however I truly enjoy breakfast-type foods (i.e. pancakes, waffles, toast, and cereal) all through the day, for snacks as...
  19. I would like to thank everyone for the replies! I am going to try the gluten-free diet for a week to see how that goes, then ingest it a week before my dr appointment so I will have it in my system before I request the blood test. My only problem is where I live...it is very hard to find items for a specialized diet, and it is often not even available...
  20. Thanks for your replies, I really appreciate it! I have so many concerns, like if I stay on the gluten-free diet until my dr. appointment, then my blood test may come back negative. I know I should definelty listen to my body, but shouldn't I get an official diagnosis so I can be strict on my diet and not risk damaging my intestine further? OR, if it is...
  21. I did a search on the board and didnt' find the answer I was looking for, so I appologize if this has already been asked. I have had stomach/digestive problems for years and the dr's told me it was IBS. However, an IBS-safe diet has not been working for me, and many of the symptoms are similar to celiac/gluten intolerance. Thus, yesterday I ate completely...
