  1. My daughter recently tested positive for Celiacs on bloodwork, neg biopsy and has 2 genes for Celiacs. She has been gluten-free for over 2 weeks and has made some progress some days and then some days she seems worse. I believe there are other foods causing problems as I have read many people have problems with. She has been dairy free now for about 1...
  2. I get hand and feet numbness and tingling when my calcium levels are low. I had my thyroid removed in February and I am not producing calcium and have to take mega doses of calcium daily. Not sure about the kidney pain though. Have you had a blood calcium level checked? Hope this helps!
  3. Hi, my daughter was recently given a RX for Periaetin to help stimulate her appetite. She has lost alot of weight since Christmas and is having a hard time eating. She has only been gluten-free for about 2.5 weeks and showing a small improvement. The doctor is worried about her low weight and wants her to gain so he gave her this medicine. We haven't started...

  5. Thanks for your responses. I know she does not have an eating disorder. I'm not sure what the Doctor wants to ultrasound, I will find out more tomorrow when they call to schedule. I was just too schocked that she tested negative. The blood work was Tissue Transglutaminase Ab.IgA of 17.9 with above 7 a positive and Endomysial IgA screen of 16.7 and...

She has dehydration, losing weight, bloating, gas and nauseous feeling. The doctor says she does not have all the classic celiac disease signs (the low anemic, calcium levels, etc). Her blood work came...
  7. Thank you all for your replies, help and support! This message board is just wonderful. I have learned more from everyone than the doctor! This is the second doctor I took my daugther to and he was much better than the first. The first said she was anorexic and I told him he was wrong! Hopefully we will find out the biopsy results the beginning of...
  8. Hi, we are new to celiac disease. They think my teenage daughter may have it. She tested positive on the Ttg and had a biopsy today. She has lost so much weight and is malnourished and dehydrated. Everything at this point that she eats is making her sick. We are waiting for the biopsy results next week for the "real" diagnosis. The doctor keeps saying...
  9. Hello, we are new to celiac disease. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if 17.9 is considered a high result for the Tissue Transglutaminase AB.Iga test if 7.0 and greater is positive? This message board has been so helpful!
