  1. My personal opinion is: don't. What you and your family choose to eat is your business. If you find that your kids are still not feeling well after a few months on the gluten-free diet, then you can reconsider a biopsy, otherwise (again, opinion alert) why subject them to something so barbaric as cutting out pieces of their bodies to prove to some yahoo...
  2. Before I started working in the lab where I am, a bunch of us met for beers in stead of after work. Our two labs kinda worked together, but on opposite sides of the city, so I had seen these guys at previous "lab meetings". Pitchers came, and I happened to be an excellent pourer, so I filled peoples glasses with just the right amount of foam on top. One...
  3. Very few physicians do research. Those that do have very limited medical practice. Physicians know little about pharmacology, you need to consult a pharmacologist about drugs and drug interactions. PAs and NPs can be extremely educated and experienced. As can RNs.
  4. The AMA no longer recommends yearly mammograms for pre-menopausal women. The ACS does. Lots of stats on this. Bottom line, you should educate yourself on your own risk factors and make your own decision.
  5. Search engines will show you whatever you search for. If you search for candida and celiac disease, that's what you'll pull up. Don't confuse what you see, with what is true in the majority of cases.
  6. WIH?? 'cause yur sniifin' armstrong's pits??? 'cuz yur dog looks preggers???
  7. Be sure to tell him it's BYOCT
  8. It does get easier. Little by little things become routine, and once you stop thinking about them, and just doing them, it's much less stressful. It's a huge change. It's normal to feel loss and anger and depression and all those other negative things, but they go away too. It just becomes your life.
  9. ummm...I'm pretty sure I could tell the difference between a bird and a bat....especially if they were both standing still
  10. A very good question. And one you should ask your doctor.
  11. However, far better than cutting and pasting 45,000 lines. Seriously tired and grouchy. Neighbors dog was barking ALL NIGHT LONG. Still barking. Must figure out what to do next time. Who to call. And who's frickin dog.
  12. with velcro. Buttons might be too difficult under duress.
  13. I am always astounded by your gift for subtlety.
  14. You may just be more sensitive to things now that you're gluten-free. Could be mold, could be chlorine in their water, could be their shampoos/soaps, laundry detergent, fabric softener...
  15. OK, so the cats know it's a weekday and I'm supposed to be at work. Max and Lefty are doin' their (presumably) normal weekday thing - lying about, as opposed to the weekend thing - lying about on me. I walk into my bedroom, and there's Lyle doing his (presumably) normal weekday thing. He's sprawled -sprawled!- across the open sheet part of my unmade...
  16. Call the craigs list guy. He didn't list any rates, must mean he's negotiable
  17. OK, starting this by saying **inappropriate link warning** I was watching this show on MSNBC about sex slaves and they said something about Craigs list being a source. So I go there and by golly there's a section for it and everything. So I look at some of the ads, and here's what's available... Open Original Shared Link
  18. Congrats Nikker!! Take good care of the crown jules...oh...wait...she's in Colorado
  19. You might want to avoid raw fruits and veggies for a while. Give your digestive system a chance to rest. What are you eating? Post a couple days diet.
  20. Your address is only visible to you. No one else can see it if they look at your profile. Same with phone number.
  21. He's been gone too long to hit all the little things - just start with the highlights.
  22. My guess is Nothing. But unless they look, they can't say that for sure.
  23. Gads it's been a long week. Can we have Monday off?? Who's queen around here?
  24. The Celiac diagnosis is correct. The blood tests are accurate. The biopsy is to show how much damage has been done. Even if the results show no damage she needs to stop eating gluten. As for wanting to look for 'anything else going on' that's your call...
