    ARCHIVED Eerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Sorry need to vent I guess. My doctor still won't test me for celiac and I can't afford to go any where else. Her nurse called back today and says that now I have to test for thyroid problems but what gets me is that she expects me to pay for a MRI of my stomach.....what is that sapossed to tell her. Has anyone had to have an MRI done for any of this....
  2. Congradulations on your second pregnancy! I hope that breast feeding (if you plan to) goes allot better for you this time. I found it really fustrating through my whole experience with my last baby.
  3. I know they recamend using hand sanitizer with all preemies. She was born at 2lbs 9oz. The smaller they are the more at risk they are for problems and severe illness. She was also diagnosed with a chronic lung disorder. The doctors put a hole in her lungs when they vented her when she was born.....they called it a nemothorax. They came within a few days...
  4. Thanks....it's a little comforting to know I'm not the only "protective mommy". Our little girl was born 3 months to early and almost had lung surgery.....she had a hole in her lung (lucked out on that one). She was on a vent just short of three months not to mention a ton of other problems. The docs tell us that a common cold could easily kill her and...
  5. Would you recamend that program for a newbie to this whole celiac shopping thing? Was it worth the money in your oppinion to purchase the program and pda? Is it farely easy to understand and use? I am ok with computers but I'm no genius. I am looking for somthing that is not to time consuming to use while shopping.
  6. It's a program that is saposed to tell us a ton (100,000) of products from food to bath products that are gluten free. I wish I could get out to the grocery store on my own. I have yet to leave my youngest daughter alone with anyone besides a nurse. Both her grandmothers and her father panic during an emergency....or at least they did when our oldest daughter...
  7. Just wondering if any of you out there have used or know anything (good or bad) about the Gluten Guard Software. It sounds helpfull but expensive. Just wondering if it's worth it or not. Thanks.....any input would be helpfull. I just find it really agravating to look and read every single lable while my 4 year old is whining and my baby is crying and...
  8. Congradulations!!!! I hope all goes well for you and your new addition!
  9. Hi.....I am glad you posted this topic. I wish I had known more about this disease and what it could do before I became pregnant. My Grandmother and my cousing had been diagnosed I think about two years ago but I did not know what it was and didn't think much of it. I myself have had one healthy baby at 41 weeks (6lbs 7oz) almost 5 years ago. I had a...
  10. I just had all four of my wisdom teeth out a few months ago. Three of them were impacted. I was extreamly scared before I went in for the surgery because I knew I would be awake. However, I didn't remember the surgery at all. Make sure you take your pain drugs as often as allowed. I found that if you waited till the pain started to get worse it was to...
  11. I have not been officially disagnosed as my doctor won't test me and I have yet to persue it due to doctor bills. But the disease is in my family and I and others are 200% positive that I have got it. My first pregnancy almost 5 years ago now went ok and she was born at 6lbs 7oz a week late. My second pregnancy ending back in december of this year my baby...
  12. Thanks for your replies! It's a little comforting to know why this happened and that I was not the only one. Thinking back I do believe the amount of food I was eating did affect my milk supply. I am dissapointed in the doctors though. The hospital that my daughter was in is sapossed to be one of the best NICUs in the US. However, they knew there was...
  13. Everyone I know including my doctor thinks that you can't be overwieght and have this disease. They don't understand how when your body is being starved of nutriants how you can be overwieght. From what I have seen on other posts on here that many celiacs are overwieght. Frankly I don't know either and don't know how to explain it to them. Does anyone...
  14. I have not been officialy diagnosed yet......the doctor claims it's only IBS. I had a baby back in December born three months early (I think due to celiac) and stayed at a Ronald McDonald house were I met a number of other mothers with premies and they were all producing more than enough milk for there babies and then some. However, I was never able over...
  15. My four year old daughter just got her blood test results back and they came back negative. I am not sure exactly what tests they did....they orded two of them. We have a family history of celiac disease. She has complained for about a year of an upset stomach almost daily, she has had constipation for about 6 months or so, she is small and under wieght...
  16. Thanks everybody for your answears.....I feel better now that formula shouldn't have gluten in it. I still don't know what the problem is with her feeding. Hopefully the GI Specialist will have some answears for us on Friday.
  17. Hi, We have a family history of diagnosed celiacs. I believe myself and my two daughters may be suffering from celiac. My youngest daughter was born 3 months early and has never eaten what she should from a bottle. They concluded that she has reflux but after being on the stronger medication for about 2 months now she still refuses to eat and has to be...
