From: "mikej253" <mikej253@yahoo.com> Date: Thu Aug 4, 2005 4:18 am Subject: UPD: getting tested for gluten/ celiac disease mikej253 Offline Send Emailnot going cold turkey on gluten, down to just 1/2 a donut's worth ofgluten per day. Started on sunday so too early to notice anything.Sending back the mail order gluten test to enterolab.com today - theysay that short periods off gluten hardly affects their test and theycan test after longer too, so thought i'd make a start on the weekendwhen i had time to go gluten free shopping.prolly go 100% gluten free tomorrow. expect test results within 3weeks, i'll keep everyone updated on that.I like wheat products and find carbs do digest more quickly thanprotein for me, although they do give me more wind than a pureprotein meal. However i'm actually hoping for a positive result -really searching for an answer to my current ideopathic gp. Beentested for pylori (spelling) ulcer causing bacteria - came backnegative, so that wasn't my prob.if test comes back negative i'll consider Sari's suggestion althoenterolab say they are more accurate than blood test. Or maybe justconsole myself that i can carry on eating wheat products.cheers,Mike
