Back In The Saddle

I was watching Men In Trees (rerun) and the Asian lady said her husband has a "gluten allergy" really casually right in the dialogue and it fit right in the storyline. It was SO COOL!! I realize most celiacs know it's not an allergy, but that is a word the general public understands.

Also, I went to Rubio's Baja Fresh and the guy at the counter pulled out an allergen list and told me to keep it, he brought out the marinade container (without me asking) to let me see the ingredients, then had them make my mahi mahi taco with UNmarinated mahi mahi! He was so accommodating! How refreshing. It was good, but kinda bland...

I went to PF Chang's and my young waiter said he was celiac and he chatted with me about his diagnosis. Had the lettuce wraps and the pea pod things and the choc. dome from the gluten-free menu. Perfect.

I brought the chocolate layer cake from Trader Joe's to my celiac support group and they liked it, too. Yummy.

My ears are still bad, but my allergy cough is finally subsiding. I'm using the neti pot now and it helps!

My principal let me have 4th grade and although it was tough moving stuff to the new room on the opposite end of campus, it was our first day of class today and I LOVED it! I taught them the Cha Cha Slide and we just had so much fun doing ice breaker activities and they seem like their personalities are more individual and unique, and they can line up and do basic functions independently and they are trying so hard to improve their cursive! It is so fun!

You're probably gonna wanna smack me.... but I went out with this probably universally attractive (not to ME) artist who took me to the ballet and then told me that he couldn't believe how many men were there since he only takes women for their enjoyment....

And he kept trying to kiss me after he ate feta cheese and the smell...ugh. Gross. Plus, I was trying to be accommodating when we watched the ballet (at outdoor bowl performance place) on the grass (I'm allergic) and my coughing was even worse and my eyes were watering and I was sneezing. If he'd have told me- I'd have brought a blanket...

So, as sick as I was, (here comes the smacking part), I must have coughed out part of my logical brain because I let the Detective come over and take care of me. Then, he took a week off work (in lieu of Hawaii trip we didn't do) and we spent 24/7 together and he nurtured me and we went to the beach and went to his youth football practices he coaches...watched movies and TV...went to jacuzzi...even felt good enough to go dancing one night...he worked on my classroom and put up ALL my bulletin boards (I hate doing it) and stuff for 2 days...and I loved every minute of it. Anyway, I played THE voicemail for some normally hard-nosed friends and they think that it isn't that cut and dry and they reminded me that there are screwy, off kilter women out there..However, I just don't see any logical explanation for it, so my mind believes the woman, but my heart wants more proof. So, for once, I'm letting my heart lead me and I'm so happy, but I realize I may end up regretful....

Also, I got some overdue checks I needed and I got SIX pair of beautiful shoes in lieu of going on a big hawaiian vacation.
