One More Question

Thanks, Julie, for your response to my earlier questions. I thought of one more:

One of his symptoms is stunted growth. Basically he appears to have stopped growing around 12 mos of age. If he does have celiac will this be resolved? In other words, will he return to his normal growth curve or will he remain short the rest of his life?

Hi. I can't offer much help on the little guys but I have read that short stature or not thriving is a symptom of celiac in children. Have you read any of the post in the forum "Parents of Children with Celiac Disease"? That might help answer many of your questions while your waiting on someone more informed to answer.

Once he is gluten free 100% and heals he should continue his normal growing and his body will catch up if the growth being stopped was celiac related.

When my symptoms started up my growth stopped at about 5'2. I was 16 at the time of diagnosis....now I am 18 and 5'4 and still noticing a change in height. Kids and teens who had delayed and stunted growth due to celiac usually will catch up. I don't think that should be a worry of yours one bit.
