Depression , Anxiety And Chronic Fatigue

I'm 50 + been gluten free 5 years. I havent figured out when my celiac started. I am sure it was in my twenties or earlier.

All throughout life I have had bouts of depression. before 40 ish it would be about 3 days for about 4 times a year. Now it is mostly constant. I have even started taking a very small dose of anti depressant in hopes to stop taking it altogether. I also have episodes of anxiety attacks that last for days. I have researched and apply techniques and also very small doses of xanax. Nothing really helps the anxiety attacks.

5 years ago I had hoped that the healing would get me back tip top. The fatigue and brain fog has kept me mostly unemployed. I have been able to lose 55 lbs. Which has moved me from obese to the overwieght category. So, thankful for that.

Do any of you 50+ have to manage depression/anxiety ?

Do you think your depression/anxiety is directly related to long term undiagnosed celiac ?

Have you had your thyroid checked? I think if that is wonky it can cause depression and anxiety.

The only time I had to deal with those things was about a hundred years ago when I was on birth control pills. Hormones can really play havoc with moods. Have you been dealing with menopause? A lot of us had early menopause because of celiac and it seems the hormonal changes can last a long time.

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
