I’ve been gluten free for two years after I noticed eating gluten made me bloat up. I lived passing gas and thought that was “normal”. Fatigue anxiety dizziness, sinus pains and tingling was a normal part of my life.was diagnosed with lupus at 25 only to find out now  I never had it at 42! My mom was told positive on blood work for gluten intolerance only to find out it’s celiac . Did genetic testing had positive DQ2.2 and something else my problem is doing the gluten challenge and having bad symptoms come back. I want to know if anyone can tell me if I sound risky for Celiac?

i have bad diarrhea now, I’m scared because it’s never been this bad ...i think maybe it’s something else. I have been consuming gluten but stopped and now my stomach is a mess. Help!

It can take a couple weeks of no gluten to go back to normal. It sounds like Celiac symptoms (same ones I had, even your current stomach issues). I also stopped using any bath and body products with gluten in them. I found that helped. The damage to the intestines is not reversible though, so it’s possible this new symptom is a result of that, and/or may be considered an IBS type thing. Talk to your dr, ASAP! I hope you get it figured out!

Last time I got glutened I it took over a month for all the symptoms to go away. Sounds like your bad enough off you can not try the gluten challenger for the offical testing. But I hear they are working on a new form of Dia. that does not require the challenge.  From what you mentioned and that your mother has it, you probably do also.

Some use Imodium to stop the D, I found taking 3000mg of potassium and eating baked goods etc with coconut flour to form up the stool helped. Others use peppermint tea to sooth the stomach (peppermint always aggravated mine).

Reread over the newbie 101 section and see if you missed something.

So you have seen your actual Celiac tests and they were positive years ago?  And your mom didn't understand it was for Celiac?  Those are all the tests you need if those are real.

Hi thanks for replying! I am taking all the advice I can thanks!  ?? 

kareng those were tests my mom had done last year but her doctor never said she had Celiac until I asked one of the ladies at the Celiac foundation about how my mom tested positive for  having “gluten intolerance “ .she informed me that there was no test for gluten intolerance only for Celiac and that’s when I had a talk with my mom 

i think I will skip the gluten challenge at this point . I’m glad to hear they are coming out with better testing methods.

      I would hesitate to recommend tetracycline or any antibiotic as a long term therapy option because of the negative impact it has on the gut biome. I took it for years as a teenager for acne and I'm convinced it was a contributing factor in my having developed celiac disease.

      Welcome to the forum, @Pamp8, I stopped foods high in iodine, like dairy and eggs, kelp and iodized salt.   I take Niacinamide also called Nicotinamide or Vitamin B3.  I haven't taken the tetracycline with it.   It seems to make the blisters disappear quicker. I also use tallow balm, a cream made from beef fat, which has been used for thousands of years.  It is absorbed into the skin better than creams made from plants.  It helps prevent or lesson scarring.  See the study below.       Hey yall! I am dealing with a new diagnosis. I have been sick in some sort of way for 10 years. I am 22. I can’t remember a time in the last decade I have not had some strange symptom. This last year it got way worse. I lost 40 pounds and had to drop out of school. I ended up getting and endo and blood tests and got positive results for celiac. I am looking for advice of ANY type. I am vegan so this is a big adjustment to add this to my diet. Thansk fro the help.
