Excessive belching after every meal

I was officially diagnosed with celiac disease last summer. Since switching to a gluten free diet I’ve fell better overall with the exception feeling bloated and needing to burp a lot. There was a time when I noticed the burping wasent as bad but it’s definitely getting back to before I switched to gluten free.

Breakfast: 2 gluten free waffles with butter/cinnamon/sugar …… burping after

Lunch time: I ate a banana with peanut butter……burping after

Dinner: potato soup made from leftover mashed potatoes/cream/onion powder/cheddar/bacon bits……. Burping after

Anyone else have excessive belching after eating?

Yes, it began to improve after about 3 months on a strict gluten free diet but still comes back now and again. I think it is caused by a small intestinal dysbiosis (SIBO). I regularly eat fermented food such as unpasteurised cheese and kefir. This seems to help. Some food seem to antagonise it for me: beans, tofu and starchy foods like rice or gluten-free pasta. I still eat them as my symptoms are manageable.

Thank you for your reply. I started my gluten free diet back in July. I will say though that I’m not super strict. I do eat stuff out if a fryer when we eat out so I know there’s a chance of cross contamination. My question would be that if I was eating gluten free items, but there was trace amounts of gluten in the oil how much would that affect my symptoms. I realize everyone is different, but I’m still learning how sensitive I am. And I guess my next question would be if I did get trace elements of gluten on my food how long do symptoms last usually? Like if I had some thing three or four days ago that had gluten on it and then I’m eating something that has absolutely zero amount of gluten. Could it still cause these symptoms? I have an appointment with my doctor has a follow up but that’s not until June.

Hello, My daughter (almost 13) was diagnosed with celiac 1.5 years ago. I also have celiac and gluten ataxia so we are on this journey together. In another post, I mentioned how my AGA IgA has not really gone down even though my ttg IgA is down in normal range, and a biopsy one year ago showed my villi were healed/basically normal. My daughter's GI is concerned that her antibody levels are not going down fast enough (they dropped drastically the first year and she grew three inches, but they have slowed the past 6-9 months and her growth has plateaued). Doctor is concerned that she will not grow to her full height if she doesn't get her levels down as low as possible before her growth plates set). It seems the main culprit for both of us is eating out. We are very careful, but I did begin to eat out more when she was diagnosed b/c I didn't want to unnecessarily restrict her (esp. socially), and the celiac nutritionist agreed. But now we are facing the reality that we need to redouble our efforts and only eat at home and possible dedicated gluten-free establishments. This is sad, but her health and growth are worth it (btw, she has been symptom free this whole time, so we thought we were okay, but the bloodwork tells a different story). My questions are: 1) What are ppl's experience with children hitting a growth spurt after going gluten-free? Is this likely that she will grow more if we get her levels down? 2) After her window of growth closes (growth plates set), is it possible for her to eat out again (still being extremely careful) and monitor with bw and possibly repeat biospsy if needed? Her growth is crucial right now, so that is our focus, but I'm wondering if she will be able to expand her eating options at some point when she is older or if she will have to stay this strict for life. 3) What recommendations do you have to navigate this time with an almost teenager (both navigating social things, parties and making sure she has adequate nutrition as she can be picky). I know she can bring her own food to events we anticipate (lots of prepping ahead which makes me tired ::sigh::). But the hardest thing is the spontaneous times where we can't prep ahead. I am concerned about her getting enough variety in her diet and the nutrients she needs (she loves rice and gluten-free pasta - basically rice - but these have little/no nutritional value).

I’ve had both but without salt. The Tierra Farm had a little more flavor, although the almonds were a bit smaller and maybe a tiny bit tougher.

Thank you! This is great. I take Pure Encapsulations for my multi, magnesium, and Vit K (I forgot to mention I also take that). My doctors have prescribed all of the supplements for various things in addition to nutritional deficencies - migraines, low bone density). I will have them take a look at my multi vitamin though to make sure there isn't excessive overlap, and I will ask about getting tested for these other B vitamins. Kim

It's actually something I cannot find locally at all due to my more rural location.  I can also not find it at Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club where I have looked when we have traveled.  So many nut options have added oil now.  Ordering online is my only option at this point.

I would be surprised if anyone could taste the difference--salted dry roasted almonds should not be hard to find. As mentioned in my last post, nuts.com may not be for you if you are avoiding peanuts.
