Rachel--24

Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

MOrning all,

Kind of afraid to check in every day as I know I"ll get sucked in for 30 minutes to an hour...:ph34r: But it's my daily laugh/update/information/inspiration center....R-ville is not only a paradise cult farm but a VORTEX.....yikes !

Rachel - probably a hideous question that you've answered somewhere but do you take Lactaid ever, or the tablets at Trader Joe's? And that smell on the hands that you and Patti have - - that is so weird! Obviously a sign of something amiss...who knows what...what is the connection of yams and celery?

robbin - - thank you for your input - - I am taking iron and vitamin B, that's it....I KNOW I'm not as malnourished any more...don't know what's up with the bruising??

And Celia - guess what - her grandbaby was arriving late last night, she will be doing grandma stuff today and is thrilled to death to see that little one again...sends her regards to all in case she doesn't check in -

The Hershey's :( This can't be true as I"ve been known to eat half a bag a night.... Will try them again next week and see what happens....I LOVE Hershey's milk chocolate...with almonds...

guess what all, today I am four weeks alcohol-free, and almost that long Robert-free....I can't tell you how fantastic I feel, some of you may know that I was quite the wino since working at that winery....but I'm astonished to report that I don't really miss it all that much either! YOu know, I was praying for help/relief/rescue/miracles/recovery for years without knowing what was going on, so after getting dx in Jan. and feeling enormously better, I STILL kept getting a nudge in my spirit that I needed to let go of two things I was clinging to (Robert and my almost-nightly drinking), and I very angrily and sobbingly let go a month ago...I just can't believe what incredible freedom that has given me, and how I have gained so much through the letting go of those toxins....just had to share that.

Cissie - I have posted on this forum but don't know if it was here - generations of my ancestors are from Social Circle and Decatur Georgia - - and you'll love this (might have posted in the MEN thread) my two great aunts were exactly Blanche Dubois from STreetcar....they were something else. I have about five or six old photographs of the family homes, with addresses on the back of them, in those two small towns in Georgia and do plan to visit someday and look up a couple of those!

gotta run - - bless you all and have a great day - - it's dripping hot here, 108 today - UGH....and I"m feeling so much better today, thanks all....

and Donna, was it you that asked? My Tika is on the right, got her when she was 10 weeks old from SPCA, almost 12 years ago...she is a lymphoma survivor, actually went through chemotherapy - they said she'd live 2 years max but she is 12...very strong....maybe Queensland and husky, or Queensland/german shepherd...who knows..my therapy dog Annie is unimaginably beguiling...found her on the highway three years ago, bedraggled, abused, hand-shy....six months later I encountered a woman on the beach in Montery who started screaming WHERE DID YOU GET THAT DOG? OMG I know her!!! turns out she worked at SPCA, Annie had been adopted out four times, kept running away....she ran away weekly from our house, but always came back, jumped out of a moving car three times.... :o loves us to death and never leaves my side. She is a herding dog, probably Queensland and shepherd..

okay NOW I gotta go!!!

Wow Susan....thats awesome! Congrats to you for staying strong and letting go of not only one thing that was bringing you down.....but 2 things!! Thats alot to be pround of. :)

Nope....never tried Lactaid...as far as I know I'm not lactose intolerant. That actually seems strange to me....The fact that something in my body might be working right is just a new concept to me right now. I believe the connection between celery and yams is Auxigro. Cant be 100% certain but thats my guess based on my reactions.

Mango,

We'll miss you while you're off in Australia. Hope you have the best time there...try to visit us in R-ville when you can. :)

Thanks for reminding me about the dangers of dairy....I know you're pretty passionate about it. I've read so many times that people who sometimes think they are intolerant to dairy are actually reacting to stuff *in* the dairy. Chemicals, hormones, MSG, corn....all of these things are in dairy products so I'm testing out products that are free of all the extra stuff to see if I really do react to to dairy. Cheese messes me up but its more of a histimine reaction that I get and its not always delayed depending on if I'm already reacting to histamine at the time or not. If I ate bananas, raspberries, fish and pork which are all high in histamine I would really feel it if I ate a piece of cheese. However, if I ate none of that stuff and just the cheese.....the reaction wouldnt happen until I ate enough of the cheese to trigger a reaction. Its a build up effect...like you said....but it might mot be a casein factor. Milk isnt high in histamine and I generally dont notice problems with organic milk. Once I put chocolate in my milk though...I react to the high amount of histamine in the chocolate. I just dont wanna rule out a whole food group based on my reactions to cheese or processed ice creams that have alot of other bad stuff in them like the corn syrups and "natural flavors" in ice cream.

About the cop, someone asked, forget who. That was me. And he didn't pull me over, I pulled his a** over :lol:

LMAO!

Julie, I'm thinking if you can eat fresh corn and tamales but not the corn syrups and the processed stuff its probably not a true allergy to corn. Its just an intolerance to the crap. Thats what I'm gonna find out too...I think I wont have problems with fresh corn. Corn syrup is full of MSG and sulfites....the two thogether will cause a more intense reaction. Corn syrup is very bad for me. :(

Someone called me the "queen" in an earlier post and I just dont see myself as being the queen in R-ville. I thought of you right away....you have better hair and are naturally good at waving and greeting and all of that stuff that queens do....so I nominate you. :D

Besides, I wouldnt be caught dead wearing one of those crown thingys... :P

 penguin-I love your allergist-not afraid to look things up with you in the room. My dr. leaves to go to his office to frantically go through the books. <_< Zack's allergist has the same kind of sheet Vincent's has apparently. Probably a copy from the 1930's :) They do seem like a fruit, though in the raw state, makes sense to me. :D

I am like you Julie, plain corn on the cob or plain popcorn --can eat it, but the processed corn products make my stomach feel like -as someone on here so accurately put it--eating glass chards. :(

I am so emoticonal today  How can you limit emotions?:rolleyes:

I got lost in the water challenge discussion and am wondering why Poland Springs was determined to be the best spring water?

Ryan, you are starting to make me doubt your handyman abilities  Do not say you can fix a TOILET with a hammer!? OK, maybe your skills are mostly in the carpentry/woodworking area. Obviously, we will NEED a plumber. :P

Susan, your Annie is a sweet sensitive little girl. I love how they do look a lot like a dingo--what are they actually? (I apologize if you mentioned that before--I am usually in brainfog when I am on here late at night)

ee cummings-I always think of the movie " Hannah and Her Sisters" -when I read ee cummings. Anyone an old Woody Allen movie fan? Cissie, your hubby would get along so well with mine, (gasp :o ) There's TWO of them?!! YIKES

OK, I am emoticonally spent on here and must get lunch together. Geez, I agree, life interferes with this forum sometimes  "See" y'all later.

Robbin,

How the heck did you get all those emoticons into your post! :o

That is sooo not fair. I was robbed of my emotions last night!

Hmmm...either you have found a way to bypass this silly little rule...or I just had WAY too many emotions last night while I was sitting there typing my "relevations" and blissfully enjoying my pint of ice cream. ;)

I have a really pretty tiara whoever turns out to be queen can borrow :)

Thanks Penguin (I feel so weird calling you that),

Whoever agrees that Julie should be queen of R-Ville say "I". Or just say something else that means "yes". If at least half of the population of R-ville is in agreement then she shall be queen.

Hmmm....I have no idea how much half of our population is  ....but nevermind that....we'll figure it out later. :P

Ha! I do go kinda nuts huh when people talk about eating dairy. I'm like the anti-dairy police. But I do think you're on to something here. At least all the cows in R-ville are raised on pure organic land and fed all natural grasses. hehe. You really should write a book about all this (ya know - about what's in all the food we eat). You know waayy too much about it

Yes this board combines posts if they are to close together by the same person with no other posts between. I HATE THIS FEATURE AND TURNED IT OFF ON MY BOARD. But.. since its on here, it counts the emotes per post, and since you posted twice you get 40 emotes instead of 20.. the side effect is that you can not edit thepost cause after its combined it counts it as one post, and the 20 smilie limit is enforced.

(Raising my hand) "I"!

I think Julie is the perfect choice--she has that elegant, regal look :D

Anyway Rachel, you are president and would not have time to devote to both positions. I just found out that I'm your VP! I'm honored :D

OMG, I adopted Chip from a local vet...her owners had turned her in to be put down. They were elderly and couldn't cope with all her medical problems any more...she was an odd looking little dog, but so cute to me. She had a thyroid problem, damaged liver, epilepsy and an enlarged heart when I adopted her and she developed diabetes while I had her to had to give her daily shots. We never figured out what mix she was. She was small though but her face looked like Tika's.

Congratulations on your last month!!!! That is fantastic.

You really should write a book about all this (ya know - about what's in all the food we eat). You know waayy too much about it

LOL...Yeah well I was the least knowledgeable in that area all those years I stuffed my face with Micky D's and Hostess and 6 packs of soda everday. I dont think I had ever purchased a bottled water in my life before I got sick. My body wont allow me another soda, redbull or milkshake now. :(

I'm so being punished for all the years I abused my body... :(

Vincent--We're gonna need a rule-breaker to balance all of the perfection we have planned! You'll keep us amused and on our toes.

Robbin--I just noticed your question about Poland Spring. Actually, we're gonna need a good traffic cop because I get lost here in the thread. Anyway, Poland Spring is a spring water and therefore not filtered. A lot (but not all) bottled waters are filtered. The filtering is what I evidently need to avoid, and this is the brand I use. I'm sure that any true spring water that is available would be fine for this kind of challenge. :)

'twas I that mistakenly exalted - or demoted? - Rachel to Queen, in my sleepy post last night.....but this is just so right, Queen Julie, with Penguin's tiara for special occasions....

OMG Donna that is good news!!! so no surgery, you can come out for the Celiac conference in CA.....

I had a mass at the point where the pancreatic and bile ducts empty into the duodenum. I had a biopsy in April which was reviewed by three different pathologists, one of which said it was benign, one said it was pre-cancer and one said it was probably just inflammation, lol. So this was a follow up to see if taking acid reducing meds would make it clearer.

Donna, so glad your test came out GOOD! :) i did not know of anyone having a stomach polyp, is there any concern about that? I suppose we with celiac can expect most anything since it is a bit wierd the way we cope with it!!

I am all for Julie being crowned queen of Rville, yes she looks regal!! :)

Best of luck Rachel on ICE CREAM, I eat small amounts OK. Glad you are feeling better too. I had a few days not so great & was probably chocolate!! MM's. <_< evie
