After 6 months gluten free - here are my blood test results

IgA - <4 (ref. 0-4 normal)

IgG - <9 (ref. 0-9 normal)

tTg / IgA - <4 (ref. 0-3 normal)

tTg / IgG - <6 (ref. 0-5 normal)

Endomysial IgA - negative (no ref. or # given)

Immunoglobulin A, Serum - 217 (70-400 normal) *last test showed 211 while on gluten so not sure what this means.

I know my doctor said my numbers were absolutely terrific and said great job but I didn't know you could have < numbers which is why I'm posting in hopes someone can explain. If 0-3 is normal or negative for Celiac, why would someones numbers be lower than that? Thanks to anyone who is able to understand and explain this to me.

I hope this is not a bad sign that no one wants to tell me there's something wrong/bad with these results. Gotta leave soon so I hope someone knows something they can share.

What were your numbers when diagnosed? I assume they have gone down a lot, or your doctor wouldn't tell you you're doing a great job with the gluten-free diet. Two are still slightly elevated, but it takes time to completely heal.

So, I think your doctor is right, you're doing well. Are you feeling much better?

My pre dx test showed everything at higher numbers but all within normal range except one of the tTg's which was barely positive for Celiac. Biopsy showed I had signigicant villious atrophy which shocked ex-doc. I feel 110% better but since the anemia was my worst symptom at the time, I didn't know how bad I felt until I felt so much better. Thanks for your reply.

sorry I wasn't home yesterday... looks like you are healing up great. stick to the diet! Make yourself a nice gluten-free treat to celebrate! good job! (remember it takes an AVERAGE of two years for villi damage to completely heal)... keep up the good work!

Thanks Nisla - I'll be in touch after my MRI about seeing you and Dr. Joe.

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
