I try to find humor in everything (forgive me, but even funerals - like the time my grandfather's brother was laid out in coffin without socks on - shoes but no socks. Now my sister & I recalled that he never wore socks even in winter and it just made us giggle to see that. That sent us into the worst case of giggles where we had to leave the funeral home and walk outside a bit).

Hehe...just imagining this has me kind of giggling too. :lol:

Gluten Screener....that sounds great to me Debbie! I suspect some individuals in particular will keep you on you toes. ;)

Last night my husband gave her his school desk from when he was her age. She just looked so cute sitting in it. I was touched but then again....I'm touched by everything it seems. I'm sappy to say the least.

That would have touched me too. How very sweet. :)

She was feeling pretty special last night. Bill & I have been married a little over a year. We met about 18 months ago. Long story but to make it short......we met on the internet.....come to find out I work with his mother....small world, huh? We went out on our first date & on our 2nd we went to meet his parents & then we went house hunting. We met in January....moved in in March....closed on our house in April....got married in July. She just loves him so much! It is pretty awesome! Ok, now I can't stop smiling! Ha!

Match.com. The thing is that I was online deleting all of my addresses & switching email addresses & for some reason I looked at his picture & just sent him a line that if he ever wanted to talk that he could drop me a line. I didn't have my picture posted because I really wasn't expecting to meet anyone. I was basically wasting time & looking out of curiosity. He said he never responded to any emails or anything without a pic but for some reason did to mine. Anyway, here we are now.

Beagle -- or as we call her - the bagel, is always nuts. She is pampered and was the queen of the house for 8 years, until the two year old came around.

For instance, I went to a funeral for a fellow rugger and I could not stop laughing at a picture his family posted in the reception area --- it was the young man wearing nothing but an apron running down the aisle of a grocery store. He was the produce manager! Now mind you, he was the quite type, so this made me really laugh that he cut loose.

I've never really had anyone close to me die. I have been very lucky. However, my grandfather is in very poor health & is day to day lately. He had his 93rd birthday I believe just a few days ago. I don't know how I'll deal with that when it happens.

Hi everyone, glad to find that Rachelville continues joyfully. I am so impressed by how graciously these growing pains have been handled.

My computer is still not working as far as this site goes. Is anyone else running Windows 2000? Yesterday I felt just horrible about it and my sweetie actually offered to leave his work computer for me but I said no, I'll be O.K. :(

im 16 and i have a purple room and my 19 year old sister has a pink room, and we just painted them!

pink and purple are not JUST for little girls, they are 2 of my fav. colors!

My computer is still not working as far as this site goes. Is anyone else running Windows 2000? Yesterday I felt just horrible about it and my sweetie actually offered to leave his work computer for me but I said no, I'll be O.K. :(

I don't know what to tell you about your computer. Have you cleaned up internet history, cookies etc. We have windows xp now although the operating system shouldn't have anything to do with it.

I tried to respond earlier but my computer was acting schizoid. It's fixed by rebooting. We really need to send it in but it's not life threatening and I don't think I'd do well without my computer for 1-2 weeks.

I still like pink & I'm twice your age. I'd love a pink room now. Ha! When I was little my room was lime green. Yuck!

      Hasn’t been given folic acid as GP says vit b and folic acid can’t be given together which I find strange cos any time I did venepunctures B12 and folate were always grouped together? Her folate level was 2.2, just below the normal level

      Hi Thanks for your input. Don’t know which exact medication she’s on, keep asking but she keeps forgetting!!! I still think her Vitamin D levels might be low cos she had the back pain and tingling last year( around March /April) and levels were low so she had 3 month course then and it helped. She’s coming home next week (as in to ours) for a long weeke...

Folate level should be checked in future just in case Celiac malabsorption affects it.   Thiamine deficiency can be found with B12 deficiency.  B12, Pyridoxine B6, and Thiamine B1 all are involved with nerve health and nerve transmission.  These three vitamins together to improve nerve health better than just one of them alone.  They relieve neuropathy and pain, and improve brain function.  You're being an amazing mom for advocating for your daughter's health!  Hurrah!       Genetic testing for celiac disease (the HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8 genes) usually takes about 3–10 days to come back, depending on the lab your doctor uses, though some places may take up to two weeks. The test itself doesn’t diagnose celiac disease—it only shows whether you carry the genes that make celiac possible. About 30–40% of people have one of these genes, but only a small percentage actually develop celiac disease. However, if the test is negative for both genes, celiac disease becomes extremely unlikely, which is why your doctor mentioned possibly canceling the endoscopy if the result is negative. If it’s positive, it just means celiac remains a possibility and further testing, like a gluten challenge followed by endoscopy, helps confirm it. Since you have an identical twin, it’s definitely useful information to share if the genes are present, because twins share the same genetic risk. It sounds like you found a very thorough GI doctor, which is great, especially since she’s also monitoring nutrients and looking at the whole picture.
