I am attempting to go dairy free again, and was wondering is Coffeemate dairy free? I just can't stand drinking tea with no milk - Coffeemate I can handle and I know it is gluten free, but is it dairy free?

Hi Karen,

Coffeemate is gluten free, but NOT dairy free. Mocha Mix is the only dairy free creamer found in most stores. It works for coffee if you are used to plain cream in the coffee. If you are used to the flavored creamers, there just isn't a good substitute. Sorry. :(

Silk makes a soymilk French Vanilla creamer that is dairy free. If you are used to that real creamy texture of the CoffeeMate creamers, you will probably find this quite thin and bland. You might try it and see if you can doctor it to your liking.

You have to be careful with a lot of creamers. A lot are sort of dairy free but have a milk protein base. I believe Coffee Mate is casein based. The ones that are not dairy protein based tend not to taste anything like milk.

Have you ever tried rice milk? Actually tastes half decent in my opinion.

If honey in your tea doesn't do it for you (or trying a different type of tea - I don't particularly like black teas, but green teas and herbal teas I think are great plain or with honey or agave or, I suppose, stevia if you're sugar-free), I'd try the Silk.

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

      In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

      I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
