And Emily the banana cream thing was just a version of my fruit and cream parfait, do you remember me talking about that back around your Thanksgiving holiday? It was just alternating whipped heavy cream and blended fruit in a glass (I used mangoes). Bananas and cream just taste so dreamy and lovely together, since you mentioned you lurve bananas.

Gahhh, yesss!! Another idea fer me black bananas that involves NO BAKING/following instructions. . . . . ....Thanks, Joooolie!!

:lol: Total humiliation!!

Now, I can't believe I didn't think of just doctoring up a plain cake to make the gingerbread. After all, I do it all the time for spice cake :P:blink: So, 1/2 cup or so of molasses and the standard gingerbread spices? Genius! This is how I shall approach it! :D This should be a snap to put together. I may just make it to take to JP's for Thanksgiving.

I think it's fine to discuss this here--maybe someone reading here fer a giggle will also get a yummy new dessert idea :) Sort of a one-stop shop :lol:

OMG!!!...where to go for Thanksgiving???.....Paddhee's or Jules...both equally proficient in stunning desserts!!!!! :P

BTW Jules - 'Tatt' is just old stuff yer don't really need :)

I need to look at my recipe and see what all I added to the plain cake mix, I'll get back to you on that. Another thing I'll probably do is look at gingerbread cake recipes to compare the amounts of molasses and spices.

Are you making yours with dairy, or are you going to do it dairy free? What will your dairy subs be?

Only uses honey for diabetic Emilyies.

You can also freeze bananas in the skin and then let them thaw and slice the skin, which will be rather tough. I prefer it this way, as peeled bananas tend to get freezerburned real quick.

OMG...... :lol::lol:

DH brought home THEEEE phunniest thing that he plucked out of his work building garbage area down in the underground parking lot. I cannot stop larfing every time I look at it. . . . ..and the thing is -- it is not supposed to be funny. I don't know how many others would find it hysterical, as I do.

Cannot stop larfing. .. . . ..

Funnier, really, is the uses to which it could possibly be put.

It is a heavy plastic, life-sized male head and shoulders, shirtless and in profile, mounted on a pedestal.

:huh::huh:

:lol:

I must take a pic of it.

I could put him up in my living room window...... . make it look as though I've got a handsome guy over visiting. .. .

Gah! Put him in my bedroom window, for Mr. Chow to ponder!!

It would be a perfect, practical gift for a person who lives alone but wants to appear as though they have a big guy around .. . . ... .prop it up in various windows, outside above the hedge-line, moving along the cedar fence. .. .... . . ... :lol:

Hey! One could prop him in the passenger seat of their sedan and drive in all the carpool lanes. . . . . :lol:

Wow Em, what a phind! Yes, you can spend countless hours thinking of ways to incorporate Mr. .....did you name him yet? :lol: into all kinds of situations!

Let the hyjinks begin! :D I just thought a sumphin.....if you had him last week, you and Will coulda used him fer yer Halloween costumes--just think what having a whole nuther head woulda made possible--the Andrews Sisters, The Three Stooges, Manny Moe and Jack--endless possibilities! :lol:

Next year ;)

      Hello, and welcome to the forum. Getting use to gluten-free eating is a struggle, but it is worth it. Your daughter should begin to feel much better and the fatigue will fade but it can take some time. I am sure you will get lots of suggestions from forum members - we have a few from the UK. I am a bit pushed for time just now but will come back later. Russ

      Thank you so much @suek54 How are you doing today? I spoke too soon yesterday. Something (I can only think gluten-free sweets or a can of soft drink) set me off yesterday. Had a bath, applied some cream, still itching so applied some steroid and was awake until 3am. It's so frustrating. Always 2 steps forward, 1 step back. I am at work now and going to play it very much on the very safe side with food for the next few days.  My derm appointment is less than a week away. I will update on here because I do feel it important to help others.

      I’m sorry you’re going through all of this. It sounds very stressful, especially when you feel that your symptoms are not being taken seriously. Until you are seen next week, it may help to keep the focus very practical: take clear photos of the skin sores, write down a timeline of symptoms, list all medicines, eye drops, supplements, implants/leak history, and any test results, and bring that to the dermatologist. If there is drainage, spreading redness, fever, worsening pain, eye involvement, or signs of infection, that needs prompt medical care. I would be cautious about assuming parasites or staph without testing, and also cautious with new supplements or putting vitamin C directly on sores, since irritated skin can get worse. A dermatologist can culture lesions, biopsy if needed, and refer to infectious disease if the findings point that way. On the celiac side, I understand your concern for your son, but being HLA-DQ2 positive does not by itself mean he has celiac disease; it means he has a genetic risk. If he is eating gluten now, this is actually the best time for proper celiac blood testing before he tries a gluten-free diet. His symptoms, weight, congestion, and family history are worth discussing with a gastroenterologist, but he should not be told he has celiac based only on HLA status. For your own care, try to keep pushing for objective testing and clear documentation in your records, because that is often what gets doctors to take the next step.
