Why aren't we supposed to have malt of any kind? All cereals have it in there (or something else we aren't supposed to have) I used to eat Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes all the time, and recently found out I wansn't supposed to have malt. It has never bothered me, should I still not eat it?

We can't have malt made from barley, and unless you call to find out, you should assume that "malt" is derived from barley. Yes, almost all mainstream cereals have it - we all hate that fact with a vengance and think it's one of the stupider things about mainstream foods; the cereals certainly don't need it. But yes, you do need to stay away from it, because even though it is a small quantity, it will still cause damage to a celiac's intestines, which will keep your body unhealthy and increase your risk for long term serious complications (diabetes or thyroid disorder, osteoporosis, cancer, etc.).

      Thanks for your input.

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

      No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

      Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

      Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
