gluten-free Bread Doesn't Rise As High As Non gluten-free Bread

Hello all I am new to this forum but have been using this wonderful resourse since being diagnosed with wheat/gluten intolerance 9 months or so ago. I have a question. I am a bread lover and have found a couple of gluten-free recipies that taste good but when I make them in my bread machine they don't rise (or stay risen) nearly as well as the regular wheat flour recipes do. Is this just a fact of life for gluten-free bakers or is there a trick or recipe that I haven't tried that works. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie
