Got Copies Of My Test Results

I went to my GI doc yesterday and got copies of my test results. He said the bolod test and endoscpy were inconclusive but since my weight has stablized and I'm feeling alot better to stay on the diet. He said my body actually doesn't produce ENOUGH iga antibodies and that that can mess up the test. I tested negitve in everything but HLADQ8.

What does all this mean. There are enough little things to point celiac disease regraurdless of the test. My body has weird reactions to things so I'm wondering if a low iga can do the same thing. I go to the internist on the 5th so I might get more answers from the allergy panel. I'm also going to ask him to re run the celiac disease panel in about six months to see where I am. Has any one else had this problem or can anybody tell me what too little iga can cause?

Sounds like you have a doctor who's on top of it. Some people are Iga deficient, which means, as your doctor says, your Iga test is useless. I'm not sure why this happens, but you can certainly still have celiac. I'd say you already have the best proof -- you feel better. Inconclusive results added to feeling better seems like a diagnosis to me.

That's what we're thinking. I also have Cerebral Palsy and seem to be sensitive to changes that another person wouldn't even notice.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

Yes this is very frustrating for me ... not sure what to think.  Feels like I'm having reactions to a lot of things  Now applesauce?? I don't understand 😞

I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon
