Amanda Thomas Rookie

I don't get a chance to post much or read the board much, but was just wondering if anyone here is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? We are in North Richland Hills Just wanted to email or chat with people to get the best ideas and places to shop here for things for my 3 year old. We LOVE our GI and have no doctor complaints :) (we go to Medical City Dallas)

Please email me if you think you can help me :)

Hi Amanda

Are you eating gluten free too or is it just your daughter?

I'm donna I live in Arlington, Texas Im sure you know of the place, with the new stadium that we are beign graced with. Yes I voted for it but now I wish that I did not its a total mess over there, any way did not mean to get off the subject. I don't know much about your area, I know that there is a store kinda like Whole Foods in your area I think I have not a clue as to where it is or the name. Central Market is in Ft Worth, off Briant Irvin BLVD, but have been told by co-workers who shop there they have not seen much Glutne free foods there. Whole Foods is in Arlington just off I-30 and Collins, and it is to the left on Lamar BLVD. WHole Foods is wonderful you can ask for a Gluten free food list and it is pretty lengthy, much is pricy as you can tell. Wal-Mart has started carring some Gluten free foods, but not all walmarts carry the same stuff. their walmart brands Value will say Gluten Free on some foods, You just have to take your time shopping don't take you daughter if possible so you can take your time. these are some items that I have seen

all Value brands be sure and look at the back

Bacon

Lunch meat (they also carry the Hormel natural these are priced the same and you can get coupons in the newspaper) both priced at 2.98

Sloppy joe suace

Potted meat

Tuna Value brand

some walmarts do carry Bob Mills flours not all are gluten free

Ceral Dora the Explore Cinniamin Stars

Fruity Pebbles

Tai Kitchen Noodles (better selections are at the main grocery stores)

My Kroger has a new natural food selection complete with all Amy's line, plus all pizza with the Rice crust

Van Waffles (you have to be carefull the flavored ones are not glutne free)

Kinninnick breads (the brown bread is a little doey)

Some Bob Mills flour mixes but More $ than Whole Foods

Gorilla Ceral these taste like PoPs Ceral

Pamela Cookies (cheaper at Whole foods)

I know that this is a small list but It will help a little, also look on the tread here on the shopping thread someone posted about Kroger has a list of gluten free foods.

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
