Are there any mainsteam crackers that are gluten-free? I have been looking at all the grocery stores in my area & really can't find any at all.

Thanks!

I find Blue Diamond Nut thins and Kame rice crackers in the 'regular' section at the grocery store. These are actually my favorite gluten-free crackers.

But..... I have read some seem to react to these brands. The ingredients are gluten-free, but there is some question as the the factory cross-contamination issue.

I have never had a problem with them.

Good Luck,

Pam

After several attempts, I finally found the Blue Diamond Nut Thins and actually found them to be palatable. They are also selling Hot Kid Rice Crisps in our deli section now, which are pretty good.

What grocery stores are you people shopping at? None of the ones I have access to have gluten free specialty type products. I would really appreciate knowing where to shop at!

I mostly shop at co-ops and natural food stores for my gluten-free products. But they are now carrying some of the basics (Ener G breads and gluten-free mixes) at our mainstream stores (Cub & Rainbow here in the midwest) in the organic food department. I am lucky enough to have a gluten-free bakery close by too. I guess I am pretty spoiled!

If you can't find the Blue Diamond Nut Thins in the cracker aisle, try looking near the nuts and popcorn. This is where I find them at our local small town store. We like them. I haven't found any other crackers at the regular stores. I buy some at Whole Foods when I am in the city, and I shop online a lot.

God bless,

Mariann

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
