The 2007 Silly Yaks gluten-free Candy List Is Out!

I got this in my email today. I am so happy! We live and die by this list at Halloween!

The 2007 gluten-free Candy List is now ready to share with everyone. It is a 32 page pdf file and is posted on my SillyYaks yahoo site (Open Original Shared Link). All members have access to it. You can request to join by visiting the site or sending an email to: Open Original Shared Link. Once your membership is approved, a copy of the list will automatically be emailed to you. I prefer you join so you can get the list. You are always welcome to unsubscribe right away after you recieve the list. (This helps save me a tremendous amount of time so that I am not emailing everyone individually with the list). I literally get hundreds of requests for this each year. Again, I'm not complaining, but it does take time and patience on my part and on the part of those who request the list. Several websites ask me if they can post it to their sites and that is fine with me.

      Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

      Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!

      Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.

      It's most likely going to be a celiac disease diagnosis based on your blood test results, but wait for your doctor to give you a green light for going gluten-free, as they may want to do additional testing. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
