Mount Tremblant

Hi

I'll be taking my son skiing at Tremblant in a couple of weeks. It will only be a couple of days so we'll be able to figure it out. But, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience? Any of the restaurants there that don't look at you with that blank stare when you say gluten? lol

Thanks in advance

Parlez vous francais? Au Quebec, nous parlons francais.

Language may be a problem for you. Since this is a tourist area, the servers will be bilingual, but the people working in the kitchen may not speak English. Something could be lost in translation. If you can get information cards in French (francais) that you can give the waiter to share with the kitchen that could be to your advantage. To a francophone, the word "gluten" may not mean anything. Wheat is ble <pronounced blay>, but I'm not sure of the other words that you may need to know. Flour is "farine" <faireen>.

"Pas de ble" (no wheat) may help a bit. <paw de blay>

Due to my lack of keyboard skills in other languages, I have omitted certain diacritical marks from the French words. "Ble" has an acute accent on the "e" and "francais" has a cedilla to soften the "c."

Tremblant is in a beautiful part of our country, and I hope you have a pleasant, gluten-free visit.

Thanks!

My French isn't great. Ironically, from years of reading bilingual labels, I'm pretty good at finding gluten on a label but this won't be too helpful at restaurants.

The French language restaurant card is a great idea - I'll bet I can find it on the celiac.ca site.

Thanks again - as always - appreciate any suggestions.

It looks like their most recent clinical trial just finished up on 5-22-2025.

Dear Scott,  please check the link https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05574010?intr=KAN-101&rank=1 What do you think about it?

KAN‑101 is still very much in development and being actively studied. It has not been dropped—rather, it is advancing through Phases 1 and 2, moving toward what could become the first disease‑modifying treatment for celiac disease. https://anokion.com/press_releases/anokion-announces-positive-symptom-data-from-its-phase-2-trial-evaluating-kan-101-for-the-treatment-of-celiac-disease/

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?
