I was just looking through this forum because I was tested on Friday for Celiac Disease and I am not sure that i have it, but it is all that I can think about. I have been having trouble with digestion for about 7 years now, that I can remember. I am 27 and this started getting bad when I was a junior in college. Lately my stomach troubles have been getting worse with pain after I eat and constipation and alternating diarrhea. I went to an internist at the urging of my family and he did a bunch of blood work and found nothing. It wasn't until my mother went out to eat with friends and a person they were with had Celiac. She called me to tell me about it and when I got online I felt like this was what has been wrong with me. I have had migranes diagnosed before and spent several years in college at the doctor with "tension headaches" and was tested for Mono and meningitis several times all negative. I have also had trouble with canker sores and cavities, but other than that and IBS like symptoms, I am healthy. I maintain a healthy weight, have run half marathons, work out and lead a pretty normal life, other than having to run to the bathroom quickly a lot.

I am dying to get the results back so that I can either know for sure this is the cause of what is wrong with me or try to figure it out in some other way. I don't really know what to think. My family doesn't want me to jump to conclusions on this, but it is all I can think about!

Not sure that I even need responses, I just wanted to talk to people who may know what I am going through...

Hi and welcome. What test did you have? If only a blood test...keep in mind that a negative result does not necessarily mean that you don't have it. You will probably need to get a biopsy of your small intestine for villi damage for a conclusive diagnosis. You may want to stay on your regular diet until you know for sure, in order to get accurate test results. It's a pain, literally, to stay sick until you get the green light to start eating to get well. In the meantime, read all you can, ask any questions you like. There are many caring and well informed people here who are happy to help. Good luck! I wish you quick results.

I had the specific antibody blood tests for Celiac - I can't remember the names, but there were 2 - do the blood tests come back negative and you can still be positive with the biopsy?

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.
