Ancho & Apricot BBQ Sauce

Soy, Gluten, Dairy & Vinegar Free

2 can apricots in syrup (reserve the syrup from ONE..)

1 jalapeno seeded and chopped

1 ancho chile seeded and chopped

1/3 cup brewed coffee

1/4 cup molasses

pinch nutmeg

2 garlic cloves, chopped

3 ts kosher or sea salt (can be adjusted for taste)

1/4 cup olive oil

*if you are a diehard traditionalist you can add 1/4 cup vinegar to yours. ;)

Prepare the fruits, chiles, and garlic (do a coarse dice, they will be tossed into the food processor-or blender)

Place chopped apricots, garlic, jalapeno & ancho chiles with reserved syrup from 1 can of the apricots. Turn on low, and while running, slowly add coffee, molasses, salt, nutmeg, and olive oil. (The oil will give it some nice body)

Process about 30 seconds, scraping down the sides if needed.

Store in refrigerator. Will last a couple days.

Makes about 2 cups.

This is good on the outside of a turkey or pork meatloaf with sweet potato french fries! :) lol

Course good on BBQ brisket, pulled pork. Pork loil.

I am hearing happy swine!:o

I am going to have to try your recipe. We have a huge bbq each summer and we always have homemade bbq sauces. The apricots though are one of my fav things to put into bbq sauce.

THanks for sharing.

I just found out for our bbq we are going to have a sauce contest! I make a pretty mean traditional sweet sauce, well Idk if its traditional? I make it fairly thin with lotsa vinegar.

What I like about your sauce is no vinegar but the coffee is a great idea and all the other components that I like in a sauce are there.

 hehehe I avoid vinegar just because I cannot tolerate it (apparantly there are others)

I try to add different levels of flavor to replace the missing vinegar...

Have a phenominal summer B)

Another fun contest is chili :) or salsa would be fun too!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
