Swollen Tonsils- Related?

Hi all-

I've only been gluten-free about 2 months and began having swollen tonsils/throat often the past month, now constant. Can anyone relate? I am one of the "symptomless" celiacs- do you think this is a result of unknowingly ingesting gluten, or do you think this is unrelated? My concern is whether I should get my throat checked out, since it's not subsiding.

I had something like this. Swollen tonsils for about 8 months. ENT doctor could find no cause. Then I saw a recall on a food that I ate often, because it was contaminated with soy that was not on the label. I know I am sensitive to soy generally, but did not know it would present as enlarged tonsils. Sure enough, when I took X out of my diet, the whole tonsil thing corrected and I have had no problem since. I often wonder if there was gluten involved in the recall as well but they did not want to say for fear of litigation. So my answer is that yes, food sensitivies can aggravate and enlarge the tonsils.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
