Is it harder for them to fight the illness? Dd has a kidney infection & is in the hosp. It almost seems as if it's harder for her to fight it right now. Could this be b/c of Celiac? She's had 3 rounds of IV antibiotics & is not recovering as fast as we thought she would :(

Before my son was diagnosed it seemed like every cold last 4 weeks instead of two and turned into ear infections, strep and scarlet fever, or lung issues. He lived on nebs from 1 yr to 2 yr every time he got a cold. It seemed like every time he got sick - he got real sick and was on meds. After going gluten free, his colds seen to last no longer than my daughters and we rarely have to use the neb.

My son doesn't have a true diagnosis yet but part of his blood work is positive. He is always sick with colds and ear infections. He has had bronchitis several times. He never seems to fully get over things. He has been on about 20 antibiotics in 3 years, has been on breathing treatments. I have figured it is because of Celiac's Disease because they don't absorb the mediciations like normal due to this disease.

I hope your daughter feels better fast.

I have not encountered this with my son, but I just wanted to say that I hope your daughter is better soon!

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.
