Hi

I'm off gluten since 6 years now... and still have a lot of problem with my digestion and i get

very anxious. At every meal it feels like an elephant on my stomach i get nauseas and feel

a lot of pain. When I eat only veggies I'm ok ... and at the night i can sleep I'm so afraid

to feeling bad ... I wake up at every hours ... does anyone feel like this??

I get very tired ... i do take some enzyme that seems to help .. I have no longer cramps in

my belly and do not go to the bathroom 20 times a day like I use .... thank god for that...

But still ... i would like to feel good in my body... every time I eat i feel bad ... I'm doing my

bread (tapioca/rice) I dont know what it is please somebody help me!!

Hi! :)

Many of us with Celiac that have gone gluten free still have food issues, mainly because we eat something else that our bodies cannot tolerate. Like gluten, I have issues with casein, aka dairy. Every time I eat it I get painful cramps in my stomach, nausea, and diarrhea. I don't eat it anymore. I feel fantastic!!

I would think you might also have something that you're eating that is causing this. I would recommend a food journal with a process of elimination to determine what is causing you problems. Also, please be sure to check your medications/vitamins, as gluten and other products can hide in there. The most common seem to be: Casein/Dairy, Soy and Corn. But it could be anything

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
