Tocopherol Acetate?

I know tocopherol can be wheat derived but what about tocopherol acetate?? I've only seen it on here as soy derived but want to make sure. I found a great set from smashbox but this ingredient was worrisome to me so I held of on buying it.

It is my understanding that all smashbox (except the mascara) cosmetics are gluten-free. I use/ have used the cream blush, bronzer, soft focus powder, o-glow blush, lipgloss, eyeshadows and eyeliner with no problem and I have DH.

Sephora sells kits by smashbox-- sometiems with instructional videos that are a good deal. If you like smashbox, also check out NARS-- everything is gluten-free. And NARS is the parent company of Shiseido (also all gluten-free).

Happy shopping!

Thanks! I'm already in love with NARS lipgloss and will have to try some more of their stuff! I had read that the smashbox eyeshadow was ok but didn't know if it was their whole line. I was looking at the starter kit today and just didn't know about that one ingredient! Thanks again :D

Also check out the chanel lines (same parent company I believe). Their lipsticks and lipglosses are also gluten-free and they have a huge range of colors. Awhile back I also published a list of stuff that was okay from Guerlain-- I seem to remember there was some there too.

If you do a search here it should kick those up for you.

Have fun shopping! I like those smashbox starter kits because they are such a deal :-) I got the "7 best" and the "contouring/ highlighting" ones and I have been really happy.

You sound like you use the same lines as me! Do you know about the dior addict gloss?? I read the package and couldn't find any ingredient but their contact form on the website was broken and so I couldn't get an answer from them definitively.

Oh, I am a bit of an addict when it comes to this stuff. I'm sorry I have not researched the dior line. The best bet would be to call them if the link doesn't work. Please post when you find here-- I'm sure lots of people would like to know!

This is an entire book about Vitamin E, and on Page 16 it discusses types of tocopherols. Long story short, tocopherol acetate can be synthesized or can come from natural sources; the former is gluten-free, the latter is not. Unless you contact the company directly and ask, you have no way of knowing if the tocopherol in your eye shadow is gluten-free.

Hope that helps...it helped me a lot!! I have DH and am purging my bathroom of all gluten-containing items.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
