Substituting Soy Milk For Regular

On another thread someone mentioned chowder which I love (salmon, corn, clam you name it) but I never make that because I can't do lactose. Can you substitute soy milk? Or would you need a thicker base like maybe a combo mashed potatoes and soy milk?

While on this subject, can you sub in soy milk for baking? TIA

Yes and yes. You can thicken it with mashed potatoes, or potato starch or dry mashed potato mix. Or thicken it with cornstarch, sorghum, or even ground up almond meal. You can also use other alternative gluten free milk substitutes as long as they are not too sweet, such as nut and rice milks. ( I had to knock down the soy consumption as it was not good for my thyroid function.)

You can use nut milks for baking, too. Or even water. If you use water, you can add some other form of protein such as almond meal and a little amaranth flour, to add moisture holding properties to the finished baked good.

      That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

      Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

      Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
