I need to buy a Food Dehydrator to make foods like Jerky and dried fruits for camping. Is there a type or model that works better? Also where would I buy one?

Thanks,

Josh Lehman

I would HIGHLY recommend getting an Excalibur. It's reliable, quiet, and durable. Not the cheapest, but when I did my research on dehydrators (took three months for me to figure out which one I was going to get because of that price tag) there was little question left, based on reviews of a number of dehydrators and talking to a couple people I know who had one.

I got mine locally, but you can order off of their Open Original Shared Link as well. (I got the small one without the timer... I'd really like the timer, but I can't justify the cost.)

BTW, you can make beef jerky in the oven. Even with the dehydrator, I'll keep making it there, because I want the slightly higher temperature. (The dehydrator goes up to 145 - which can be high enough for meats, but I'd rather go warmer.)

Thanks for the website. I will see if I can find one locally and in the meantime try making some jerky in the oven.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
