Hi guys,

I just moved to San Antonio a few months ago and I'm newly diagnosed. The doctor who diagnosed me didn't want to do a biopsy or tell me anything about the disease so I went to a gastroenterologist instead. But now that I have all of the diagnosis stuff out of the way I am really just looking for a good doctor who has some knowledge about the disease and will actually spend some time talking to me and listening to what is wrong. All my life I've had doctors who just run in and out of the room and that's why I was told my stomach problems were stress for 6 years. So if anyone has suggestions please let me know!

I live in San Antonio and highly recommend Dr. Franz Zurita at 210 615-8308. He is also the medical advisor for the Alamo Celiac support group in San Antonio. Check the website at www.alamoceliac.org to find out about membership information and other local resources. For places you can eat, click on Defensive Dining page and scroll down past Austin to San Antonio.

You will find San Antonio to be a very celiac friendly place to live.

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly...

      No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

      Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done...

      Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
