The What's What On L-Glutamine

I just want to ask a few questions on what this substance is and what effects it has.

I suppose that it is a digestive enzyme but does that mean that it could corrode your intestines further -essentially is it dangerous?

Secondly, how has L-Glutamine worked for those who have taken it? Does it provide extra safety against gluten like a gluten-free diet would or is it only good as a way to improve the effectiveness of the diet?

Thirdly, how do you get Gluten free L-Glutamine and if it is a Gluten digesting enzyme, then why would gluten be a problem on it?

Lglutamine is an amino acid. You naturally get it in food, but supplementing it can help repair your digestive track and also helps repair leaky gut. I add it to my smoothie each morning" it's tasteless. I can't say I feel any differently taking it but I'm all around healthier each day and I think every thing I do helps, including this. Also, if you workout, taking this aft ward will help your body build and repair muscle.

everything above poster said is correct- its an amino acid an helps repair your muscles.

but it also helps repair your intestines. an alternative doc told my mom to take it at night (preferably the powder mixed with water & a good portion)- and then it's supposed to coat & heal the intestines at night. i have done this before. doing this OR eating ghee or taking Butyrate have made my BM's smoother.... sorry tmi- but the effects on your BM are also visual... smoother and darker-

it is NOT some kind of enzyme that breaks down gluten, and it is not gonna do the same thing for you as removing gluten from your diet. it's a good product to take to aid in the healing of your gut while ALSO on a gluten free diet.

im totally getting some soon!!!! it's been awhile, i really loved a product called Intestinew BUT, i dont know if it's gluten free???? ive only been 100% gluten-free since July/10 and i never knew how we had to also check our vitamins & medications. i hope its Gluten-Free- ??

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
