A Funny Thing That Happened On The Way To The Reception Desk

SO..... Normally I work in the copyroom at my law firm. But quite frequently I get placed at one reception desk or the other. (Usually the more boring of the two, but shh). But anyway, I arrived to my shift a half hour early, and I was to start at a reception desk. So I decided to hang out in the copyroom. So one of my coworkers says, "I'm goin' down to Rachel's* desk, because we're starting a challenge about losing weight." So I ask her to ask if I can borrow the scale too. Said coworker comes back up and says to go visit Rachel. So I do... And guess what? I weighed my self, and I was at 137.5. After being 160 (And since I am 5'2", that's well over the recommended weight)

Only 17.5 more pounds to go. Thank goodness this diet is returning my life to normal. I am so happy to be feeling better, and this diet is getting me back to my normal healthy self with no GI problems. And considering the extra fourty pounds I gained I am pretty sure that were because of gluten intolerance.... I am pretty happy. I just hope I don't lose too much weight.

Good for you, Rowena!

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
