Hi all, after confirming with Nestle (Canada) that the Aero Mousse Chocolate Cone IS indeed gluten-free, I had one last night!!!

WOW!!! What a load of chocolate! I even risked my lactose intolerance, and actually did NOT have a reaction! :D

The ice cream is light and VERY creamy, and the chocolate cone is RICH!!! I had to let my hubby Ron finish the last bite! I would have been okay if I'd thought to make myself a cup of coffee to go with it!

According to Nestle, the Turtle Bar and Rolo Bar are also gluten-free. I have the link to their New Products page here: Open Original Shared Link it doesn't list gluten-free on the products, but a quick phone call was all it took to confirm.

Enjoy everyone! :D

stupid ever-presence of dairy... grumble, grumble, moan, whine.

:-D

nah... that's great they're coming out with new options that are gluten-free!

I know Tiffany  , however if your dairy problem is Lactose, you may not find these too bad!

I had some gluten-free Shortbread cookies last week, made with butter, two cookies had me with gassy gurgle guts!

I fully expected the same when I CHOSE to eat the Aero Cone, but to my VERY pleasant surprise, I did not have a single grumble!!! :D

Maybe it was just lucky, but I'm willing to try them again, this time with a cup of fresh brewed black coffee!:lol:

unfortunately, it's the casein. :-( I miss dairy more than wheat. :-/

Hi Tiffany,

Ditto here, I can't tolerate casein either. I sure do miss ice cream! Oh well. I try to find other foods that I consider treats. I love raspberries and make them into a smoothie with soy milk and rice protein powder. I add ice to make it thick. We have a gluten free bakery in San Francisco that makes good chocolate brownies and other goodies. If I'm desperate I go to the Whole Foods near me in San Jose and get some.

Sincerely,

June :D

I wonder if gluten-free in Canada is the same as US? I've heard it's not...does that mean I should call Nestle to see if the USA products are safe?

Soy Delicious does make a very good chocolate non-dairy frozen soy dessert (gotta love the descriptor!) that is Gluten-free Casein-free that Trader Joe's carries. (I don't have it often since I'm struggling to lose the 6-8lbs I put back on this year (that I didn't need).)

Yup, you need to check in both countries, unfortunately, I wish the same companies would get together and just make it all Gluten Free. :o:rolleyes:

Thanks Scott. They are gluten-free but cross contaminated.

Hi there @MCAyr I have a small umbilical hernia which came about during my second pregnancy.   I can just about see it, and feel it, when I stand or sit, but it is far less noticeable when I lie down.  I always know when I am putting on weight because I can get pain and burning near the site, funnily enough not on the hernia itself but either side!  I would imagine bloating could cause the same effect as weight gain. In my case I don't think it is my bowel protruding but a bit of fat  - sorry,  I realise this isn't painting a very pretty picture.  But in truth it is scarcely noticeable.  It has never really got bigger in size. I was rather hoping that it could be operated on but here in the UK they don't seem to operate on every hernia anymore.  My GP isn't remotely worried about it. In a way, I should be thankful - it is like an early warning system that I need to go on a diet! Cristiana

The hernia description would likely be unrelated to celiac disease, but you'd need to get it checked out by your doctor to be sure it's a hernia.
