Hi all,

I will be spending some time in Middlebury, VT this summer. Very pleased that it looks like Hannaford and Shaw's are both there, as they usually have a good selection of gluten-free groceries, but I am curious about eating out. Any celiac-friendly places in town or near by?

Thanks!

Hi there!

Just noticed your lonely post...

Shopping is good here: my favorite places are Hanna Ford and Natural Food coop.

Dining out from my personal experience: you may find some things here and there. I had bad experience with local Indian place, probably the way they run their kitchen. Sushi you may find in Burlington or Rutland (both about 40-50 min away from Middlebury).

You may find a few gluten free items on local great Italian deli menu "Costello's" (they have a website, just google them in Middlebury).

In the area highly recommended: Starry Night Cafe in Ferrisburg Open Original Shared Link and Tourterelle Open Original Shared Link in New Haven. South from Middlebury there is also Shoreham Inn Pub Open Original Shared Link where very friendly staff will be attentive to your requests.

I also heard that Black Sheep Bistro in Vergennes may have/accommodate some of your needs, I haven't been there for a while, so cannot tell from first hand experience.

Good luck!

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
