Applegate Farm

I just had Applegate Farm's andouille sausages for dinner...and I can feel the glutened symptoms setting in. They mark all of their stuff gluten-free, and that it is not cross-contaminated, but I've tried the brand a couple of times now, and certainly with the sausages, it's making me sick. Is anyone else having problems with Applegate farm cold cuts and/or sausages?

No, I have never had a problem with anything Applegate. They say on the package whether there is gluten or whether it is gluten free. My guess is that you might not be able to handle the hot spices yet. I've been gluten-free for six months and I still cannot tolerate the yummy spices I used to eat.

My kids have both had problems with their hotdogs, and my daughter couldn't handle some of their sliced meats (although my son seemed fine, but he's less sensitive).

I'm 67 and have been celiac for 17yrs. I had cataract surgery and they put a gluten lens in my eye. Through a lot of research, I found out about MMA acrylic...it contains gluten. It took 6 months for me to find a DR that would remove it and replace it with a gluten-free lens . I have lost some vision in that eye because of it . I also go to a prosthodontist instead of a regular dentist because they are specialized. He has made me a night guard and a few retainers with no issues... where my regular dentist didn't care. I have really bad reactions to gluten and I'm extremely sensitive, even to CC. I have done so much research on gluten-free issues because of these Drs that just don't care. Gluten is in almost everything shampoo, lotion, food, spices, acrylic, medication even communion wafers! All of my Drs know and believe me I remind them often.... welcome to my world!

If this applies geographically, in the U.K., physicians will often declare a diagnosis of celiac disease based on the TTG-IGA antibody blood test alone if the score is 10x normal or greater, which your score is. There is very little chance the endoscopy/biopsy will contradict the antibody blood test.

TTG IgA reference range 0.0 to 14.9 KU/L

What was the reference range for that test? Each lab uses different reference ranges so a raw score like that makes it difficult to comment on. But it looks like a rather large number.

I have had the tTG-IgA blood test my result are >250.0  I am waiting for the appointment with the gastroenterologist for endoscopy and biopsies.    what are the chances it’s not coeliacs.  waiting and not knowing is so hard. Especially the eating of gluten knowing it may be causing you more harm and coping with the symptoms.
