Gluten Free Dog Food/treats

Hi Everyone- I tried searching because I remember someone posting about this before but came up with nothing. I dog sit occasionally for a friend and everytime I do I get midly glutened and I am CONVINCED it is the dog treats. I think the food is OK because I scoop it and don't have to touch it but the treats are killer. The first ingredient listed is wheat flour.

Anyway, I wash my hands like a madwoman and nothing seems to help. It happened again this week while watching them and I feel yucky! Any of you dog owners/lovers out there know of any? I would be sooooo grateful. Thanks, Beverly

I wish i knew of some for you. I pick up gluten-free treats made from pure meat at a local "dog bakery" in Indianapolis...

You should ck and make sure there aren't any "yuppie" pet bakeries/stores locally near you.

I give my dog "Solid Gold" Tiny Tots... They are wheat free, but the do contain cracked oats. So far I haven't had any problems. I also make sure I wash my hands really good after giving it to her.

I don't know that much about dogs, because I don't have one. But I have read that they love cheese and liver. But this are intended to be "special" treats because they are fattening. So I don't know if that would work for want you need.

May be you could try wearing gloves and then throw them away after each use. Then wash like crazy. Good luck

I give my dogs these beef jerky type treats, 100% meat. Also liver treats, 100% meat. I usually buy from www.drsforstersmith.com because they are cheaper than any store.

One of my dogs is very allergic to wheat (it's such a common allergen for dogs that I can't believe so many companies use it. I guess it's just cheap). I know a bunch of dog food brands that are gluten-free if you are interested.
